"Which floor are you heading to, sir?" Swiss requested of Hermes who didn't seem to have a ready made answer. He was just standing there, still and uncompromised. With his intentions unknown to them and his identity obscure, he surveyed his surroundings carefully.Of Haisley's two bodyguards, one was standing directly behind him, only inches taller than Hermes. The other one was at the farther side, and Swiss was in front of him. This put Haisley in the centre of them all, just beside Hermes. When the answer did not come, Swiss pressed a button. "I'm sorry sir but you'll have to take the flight back when we're off".Still no reply, and this infuriated Swiss while Haisley became cautious. She turned her eyes at him again. Besides those dark pair of glasses and those bushy beard and moustache, the figure was certainly familiar. Before long, they had reached the highest floor, and the doors of the lift seperated. As they came out of the elevator, Hermes attempted to step out with them.
As Hermes fell over, the man dragged him by his leg into another room."I knew you were some threat!" He snared as he jammed shut the door with them inside.Nobody could hear them, nobody could see them. Just the two of them."Who are you?" He roared loud, advancing towards Hermes. The latter could not say a word yet as he tried to rise to his feet. Crawling on all four, it seemed as if he was weak and he struggled. But when he checked to see his attacker right in front of him, he chuckled."I am your nemesis."Like a thunderbolt, his legs swiped over the floor swiftly, taking the legs of his opponent with it. Thus when the loyal bodyguard was falling down on his back, Hermes was rising back to his feet, and the situation was completely reversed. The man gritted. With a sense of urgency, he tried to stand up again. But Hermes knocked him back to the ground. As he bent over to knock him unconscious, the man was able to evade the blow somehow, toppling Hermes over and dealing him deadly
He stood with his back to the door. He could hear the bangs and jolts as those outside tried fervently to break in after him. But no matter how much they tried, he knew there was no going through that door without opening it. It was a highly secured and essentially special structure, a masterclass like every other thing in that suite, or in most parts of the restaurant to be honest. Hermes could recognize the quality of the glass walls that stood at his two sides. It would have cost some fortune to get all those things together. The beauty of the little passage that folded out before him. The look of the shiny grounds, the compact nature of the elegant upper walls that lay over his head. It was all remarkable, too remarkable for a food company. And of course, they had security cameras carefully attached to them."Jammed!" Dan informed him through the earphone."Got it." He replied, staring at the elevated devices as they all stopped to beep their usual red colour in unsion. Then the
As soon as Derek placed the flat key on the key receptor, a computer voice chimed. "Opening..." it said, "In three... two... one..."Then it made three fast beeps, and a crackling sound followed, announcing that the door was unlocked. But as he pushed open and barged in, he is greeted by a thick white fog which consumed the whole suite in a matter of seconds, accompanied by a loud hissing sound.Derek could not see clearly, nor could anyone else. Earlier, the tension had increased when Hermes locked himself in with the new Mrs Bradbury and everyone was beginning to worry, but now in the presence of this sudden fog, the whole place threw up in complete pandemonium."My eyes! My eyes!" Was yelled from every direction. Derek could not keep his eyes shut for long. Even if he could, his men could not. He yelled orders at them with a desperate energy. "Go in! Go in!" He directed them into the deep smoky room. He knew that his wife's captor was in there, and might want to escape with Hais
"I had a deal with Dan. You are making a mistake." Hermes was at a loss, but kept his cool. The ear piece seemed to have suddenly stopped functioning and he had no way to speak with Dan directly. There was no sense in their words, because Dan had firmly promised to help Hermes locate his mother. In return, Hermes would help him take revenge on the Bradburys for how they terrorized his childhood. Dan was not someone who would break a person's trust in him so cheaply without a solid reason. Something must be awfully wrong, either these people were gravely misinformed or they were lying jerks themselves."Well, that deal is over now, sweetheart" said Tracy, a gum hanging between her lips "It ended the second you walked through that door. It means you don't trust Danny, or anyone of us at that. We can't trust you neither."They were not wrong, Hermes had a hard time trusting anyone of them. But it wasn't exactly his fault, was it? He searched around the faces of his companions, one after
Knock! knock!"Who's there?"Knock! Knock again!"Hey, are you gonna break my...""It's me. Open up."Surprise. "What? Is that...?"The door pushed open from the inside and Zeid leaned out after it."Hermes?!" He muttered with his spirit in shock. "How did you...?"He didn't need to complete the question. The answer seemed to be peeping out impatiently from behind Hermes's expression."Don't tell me..."All Hermes could return was a slight sigh, confirming the little thoughts Zeid had dared to conceive. "They're after you, aren't they?""Not exactly. At least, not right now.""But they will be?!" Zeid dropped his head in frustration. He knew this would happen. "Were you followed?" He raised his gaze again, praying within himself for a negative response.Hermes shook his head slowly. "No one can follow me without me knowing about it"."Well, come in then! Mine is a busy street!" He pulled his friend into the comfort of his home, checking left and right to be sure that no one saw Herm
So many things had happened in the little space of three years. Time was as they say, a passing breeze under the cold night which kisses through the skin of men, leaving behind a cold shiver of memories.Three years ago, Hermes thought his world was completely over. The judge had passed his solicited judgement, doors of the prison had drifted apart and wide, beaming wickedly for his presence. The cuffs hanging and the shackles dangling from his wrist, he was led into hell in a cell. The inmates were pointing from their dark cells with evil fire glaring out from their eyes, like wild wolves desperate for a chance to devour a prey. They stared, hissing and snaring. There were on both sides and in every direction, their hands around the metal boundary which was the only thing stopping them from coming for him, and their sights ungodly and threatening in all forms.Hermes thought he might not survive more than a few days in that terrible darkness among criminals and murderers. Back then,
"So, the love of your life got married the same day you left prison, to the man who sent you to prison? That is some nice twist." Andre laughed out his guts for an awfully long while. "You shouldn't laugh at other's misfortunes...""Good god!" The old man continued in the deep outburst, "My old lungs can't sustain it!""It's not funny."He managed to calm down. "So now, you are on a mission to destroy their marriage just because you feel so betrayed?""No" Hermes refuted, "I don't care about their damn marriage, I only care for my mother's safety.""Your mother...?""They're keeping her somewhere. She told me with her own mouth"."And what if she's playing games with you?""I'll at least see it out"."Hmmm" sighed Andre. "I see."The old man closed his eyes for a moment. While keeping them shut, he continued, "And she has offered you an alliance?""Just to get my mother back." Hermes affirmed, "She only wants to help me get her back.""Why? Isn't that a bit weird?""She must feel bad
