Luana Barros managed to check in at the Rocha Hotel and was treated like a celebrity, being guided and taken to a very elegant VIP suite with efficiency and care by the hotel staff.

All of this was due to Mark, but Luana simply thought that Briana was responsible for her accommodation.

As she stepped into the opulent suite, reminiscent of Victorian elegance, her eyes widened with astonishment and anticipation. The lavish furnishings and intricate details adorned the room, inviting exploration.

"WOW! Friend, you are to be congratulated! If it had been your poor husband, I would have been registered in a cow-house!" Luana exclaimed with some mockery.

Not far away, there was a table set with cloches, evidencing an appetizing meal.

After thanking the bellboys and giving them a tip, Luana closed the door and was going to go to the table for lunch, but someone knocked on the same door.

Startled, Luana turned to find a young man standing at the doorway.

"Christopher? What are you doing here?

Christopher's words echoed through Luana's suite, cutting through the air with some sharpness that intended to slice through the pride of Briana and Mark. Each syllable he uttered displayed his accusation, painting Mark as nothing more than a freeloader, living off the wealth of his wife's family."It's shameful that you stoop to this, man!" Photos were taken, and employees looked on in deep admiration. “Look, the representative from Glamour who rocked those two TV series!” “I liked ‘Colorful Kisses’ better; what about you?” “Obviously, I liked ‘Times of Glory’ more, full of those ripped, shirtless male characters!” “I don’t think the series was supposed to highlight that...” As Mark walked past those commenting, he nodded vigorously before stepping into the elevator. There, he commented to James, “‘Times of Glory’ is a show made for men, showcasing the Middle Ages with its customs and epic tales. But the only thing the ladies are noticing are the actors playing the warriors.” “If Ray Dixon shows up in the second season, the female audience will surpass the male!” James laughed. “And have you talked to Katrina since the premiere o

The next day, Ryan appeared at the Red House nightclub. The nightclub was built in the same style as the now-defunct ‘Red Light’: bar, tables and chairs, a wide space for the flow of customers and waitresses... and the infamous stage for ‘dancers’. Ryan entered, looking around. He found a few waiters scattered throughout the hall, sweeping up dust, cigarette ashes, and snack crumbs. What appeared to be the manager, a burly red-haired man, was behind the bar, checking the stock of drinks and cocktail ingredients. Ryan approached him. “Are you Ivan?” Ryan asked. “Who wants to know?” Ivan straightened up, suspicious. “Ryan Ribas, brother of Romulo Ribas.” Ryan took a seat on the stool. Ivan stared at Ryan for a long moment. “You really do look like him.” “Then we can skip the DNA test.” Ryan gestured, signaling business. “Let’s get straight to the point. Are you aware of what happened in Braspolis?” Ivan shook his head in disdain. “Amateurs. When the police sum 2 + 2...” “The p

“So that’s why you got married, Lord Ferro?” Evandro finally understood. “Oh, how cruel! From what we see of Lady Ferro on TV, she’s a kind and good girl. She will fit perfectly as your companion when you take the reins of Aurelia, Lord Ferro.” Ray explained, “Only she doesn’t know yet.” “I don’t want to expose her to more dangers by revealing my identity. Rest assured, there are many people willing to do her harm if they find out she’s married to me. They just need to think she’s married to a mere manager of her company.” Evandro remembered a detail, “Glamour technically belongs to her.” Mark snapped his fingers, pleased with Evandro’s recollection. If Celia had listened to Mark that day, he would have given Glamour to her to preside over. But Celia didn’t want to know and asked for a divorce. Now that Briana is his wife, Mark would need to devise a way to give the company to her. “Briana nailed both of her shows. Her parents are in favor of our union, but so far, no one in th

  • Chapter 471 Welcome to Lagoon City!

Lagoon City. The city that is constantly referred to as the “Brazilian Los Angeles” or the “Capixaba New York” because of the promise it emanates of new life and opportunity to all who move there. In Armando’s case, he was also in search of an opportunity. The city where Josias Rocha reigned supreme shone at night, with the bustling downtown where workers sought their way home. But our story takes us a little away from the center, heading toward the coastal area. In the famous neighborhood of Sunset Village, the place where a good part of the elite lived, stood Mark’s mansion. The mansion was painted white and had a colonial style, traditional yet elegant, a feast for the eyes of anyone who saw it. Mark rejected the exaggerated and futuristic modernisms that some mansions embraced. James and Armando were left speechless when they entered the “foyer” of the mansion, which resembled a grand atrium. “A fountain IN HERE?” Armando exclaimed. Not even in his wildest dreams would th

Before Gilson left Katrina’s office, he paused at the door, indecisive. Then, he turned to her. “Are you serious about Mark?” A triumphant smile appeared on Katrina’s lips. “I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist the mystery.” “What mystery? Come on, be more straightforward!” “I found Armando Pratt. He was having coffee at Sweet Aroma,” Katrina informed him. “He said Aunt Nadir urged him to go after Briana to convince her to divorce Mark.” “That must have been when my mom had just kicked them out of the mansion,” Gilson suggested. “I think so too. Anyway, Armando claimed that Mark made a phone call to Alan Rocha, and five minutes later, his father called to announce the sudden bankruptcy. The reason? They offended the wrong people.” Gilson squinted and scratched his chin, thinking... “Mark, with all this going on? As if those helicopters and the Aurelia Cathedral where the wedding took place weren’t enough...” “That’s a lot for just being the backup for Young Mr. Rocha, huh?”

We expected 6 rating points; we only reached 2.” Katrina felt like spitting blood. Damn it! “Do you understand that—” “‘Do you understand that—’” Katrina mockingly imitated her father’s voice, interrupting him rudely. “Change the record, old man, will you?” Gilson remained unfazed, “Do you understand that your trip to prison hurt your series’ performance? Do you understand that we failed because we lost the support of LCN?” Katrina wanted to bury herself in a hole. Anything would be better than taking responsibility for the wrongdo

And why would Young Mr. Rocha heed the request of a crazy slum dweller like Mark?”The door opened, and Gilson appeared, overhearing Katrina’s question murmured between clenched teeth.“Daughter, are you still worried about Briana and Mark? Forget them, and focus on your life.”Katrina turned to her father, a bit hurt by the interruption. “Dad, did you know that the Pratt family went bankrupt because of Mark?”“No, and I don’t want to hear that fake news.” Gilson tossed a thick document onto Katrina’s desk. “I want you to study this.”“What the hell is this?” Katrina grimaced, with no desire to read it.“These are the metrics, along with user comments who signed up for
