Mark’s concern about the accident only lasted a few seconds after seeing that it had not caused any major consequences.

Still, it was very embarrassing for Adrian to crash his car into a RAM truck that was traveling smoothly, without dreaming that he would be hit by a careless driver.

Adrian got out of the car and immediately went to the owner of the other car, “Did you buy your driver’s license and it came in the mail?”

The driver of the other car squinted. “What are you talking about, man? You were the one who strayed from your lane! You weren’t looking ahead!”

Mark smiled slightly. Indeed, Adrian had parked on the wrong side (the driver’s seat would never be parallel to the sidewalk but in the middle of the street) and when he was supposed to get out, he got distracted because he wanted to provoke Mark.

The driver of the other car got out and started arguing with Adrian. Celia noticed that the driver was wearing light clothes, probably returning from a camping trip with friends due to his choice of vehicle.

The driver was also attractive, making Celia secretly smile.

But upon realizing that Mark was still on the sidewalk, Celia quickly got out of the car and joined Adrian to discuss the indefensible.

“You knew my friend was distracted and went straight in front of him anyway!” Celia increased the absurdity of the argument.

“I couldn’t dodge in time!” The driver complained.

Adrian whined, “Your car is fancier and bigger than mine. Look, the dent got worse on my car. With you, not even a scratch happened!”

“Then let’s call the police so they can decide!” The driver held out his cell phone.

Adrian’s legs shook a little. “Ehr... I don’t think you need to involve the police, my friend. Maybe if we discuss some monetary values...”

While the discussion was going on, Mark looked the other way and noticed another car, a red Aston Martin, approaching and parking behind the Dodge Ram.

When the driver’s door opened, Mark saw a woman wearing glasses and business clothes. He smiled, recognizing her.

As Linda approached, she was surprised by the car crash. “Lord Ferro, what happened here? Why are you in the middle of this mess?”

“The woman arguing over there is my ex-wife.” Mark smiled slightly.

“WHAT?” Linda looked incredulously at the young lady who had left her boss for that clumsy paunch.

She didn’t witness the accident, but she could tell by looking at Adrian’s car that he was in the wrong.

Shaking her head, Linda turned to Mark, “Lord Ferro, I came to get you. Please, let’s get out of here and avoid this ridiculous scene.”

Linda’s voice reached Celia’s ears and she was shocked.

“Hey, who are you, and why are you talking to my ex-husband in that tone?” She approached them.

“Are you Lady Ferro?”

“EX-Lady Ferro, with great pleasure!” Celia lifted her chin.

“I’m sorry for the bad decision you made.” Linda couldn’t control herself, “You’re the perfect definition of ‘exchanging the right for the doubtful’.”

Celia is mortified. “But who do you think you are to talk to me like that?”

“Watch what you say, Celia!” Mark warns her, “You’re causing a scene.”

Adrian approaches his ‘girlfriend’. “Celia, darling, don’t bother with these people. You don’t have to interfere in his life anymore.”

“Exactly.” Linda confirms, “You now have to worry about this citizen who got you into trouble as soon as the divorce came through.”

Adrian is also irritated, “Hey, miss, there’s no problem here. Me and the other driver there will solve this in a good way!”

Linda smiles mockingly. “You think you’re a prince, but you’re a frog that no princess will dare kiss!”

“WHAT?” Adrian turns to Mark. Does he have anything to do with this?

Mark and Linda looked at each other in understanding and decided not to give any further satisfaction. They leave and get into the Aston Martin.

Celia, Adrian, and the driver of the Dodge Ram were amazed as the luxury car disappeared from their sight.

Then came the realization on Celia’s part, “But... But... How is that possible? Where does Mark know that secretary from?”

“Did she look like a secretary?” Adrian asked dumbfounded, “With that big car...”

The owner of the Dodge Ram looked at them as if they were nothing more than fools. “Doesn’t it occur to you that those two are rich?”

“RICH?” Celia tilts her head back, “HA, HA, HA! My pal, I was his wife! He’s a janitor at the company I work for!”

“How do you explain that girl and the big car?” The driver crossed his arms.

“Ah, he must have hired that girl as an actress to come here and pretend to be rich in front of us.” Adrian can only think about this idea.

“That could have been it, Adrian.” Celia shakes her head, “Mark can’t be that rich and have lived with me in poverty.”

Elara sat propped against the headboard, wrapped in the one nightgown that had survived Christopher’s relentless, feverish affection.A satisfied smile curved her lips as she scrolled through the glowing responses to her public statement online. Her name was everywhere, her promise to restore Aurelia Square already earning her the admiration of strangers. She was scanning her contacts to make a call when the guest-room door opened and Briana stepped inside, gently closing it behind her so the servants wouldn’t overhear.“Elara? Are you alright?”“I’m fine, Briana.”Briana approached the bed, her expression warm but with concern. “I’m sorry about my cousin. There are moments when he… overdoes it.”Elara’s smile turned wicked. “If I had even a little strength left, we’d still be at it right now.” Her eyes sparkled. “I feel like the luckiest woman in the world.”Briana sat at the edge of the bed, studying her guest more closely. “You have deep feelings for him, don’t you?”“Of course!” E

Briana tilted her head, a mischievous smile curving her lips. “I was going to ask whether Elara is officially approved, but I think that would be redundant at this point.”Christopher chuckled, utterly unapologetic. “Cousin, you can throw that list away. I have no interest in meeting any other woman.”“That’s wonderful, Chris. Should I congratulate Elara, then?”He grinned wickedly. “Once she regains the ability to walk.”Briana inhaled sharply, scandalized, while Christopher burst into laughter at her expression.A short while later, Christopher sat at the dining table, replenishing his strength with a hearty, nutritious meal: grilled chicken, brown rice, roasted vegetables, and a fresh fruit smoothie prepared specifically to revive a man who had spent half the day in passionate company.Julian stood discreetly at his side, attentive as always.“Anything else, young master Vasconcelos?” the butler inquired.“No, Julian. Thank you.”Julian bowed and withdrew. Christopher lifted a gene

Briana lunched quietly in the usual restaurant. Her plate held a careful balance of nourishment: grilled salmon over a bed of quinoa, steamed vegetables seasoned only lightly with herbs, and a chilled glass of coconut water. It was the kind of meal her doctor would wholeheartedly approve for a pregnant woman, and she ate it at an unhurried pace while her gaze drifted to the television mounted above the bar. From her point of view, the news anchor looked exhausted, his eyes shadowed by deep circles, his voice carrying a funereal gravity.“The Public Security Council of Aurelia met at Parliament today with the prince and future heir to the throne, Clayton Lemes, to discuss the worsening security crisis,” he intoned. “Speculation continues about whether the recent attacks truly stem from angry viewers of the show Times of Glory, or whether something more is at play. We await further updates.”Briana frowned. If people began to suspect the true motive behind the bombings, chaos would only

“What feelings?” Sandro continued, cutting off Claudia. “Delusions? Delusions of grandeur?”“It’s easy for you to judge,” Claudia retorted, adopting a pitiful expression.“Why do you think it’s right to keep your daughter in this delusion?” Sandro asked, impatient.Claudia assumed a psychiatric pose. “Because if we constantly rub the truth in Katrina’s face, she will snap! How will she raise my grandson in those conditions?”“She won’t,” Gilson said, his voice somber. “Patricio has already warned that he will dump Katrina and seek full custody of his son if Katrina doesn’t get her act together.”Claudia swallowed hard, feeling Reality punch her in the stomach. “But... that will only make things worse... my daughter—”“If your daughter can’t have a normal head, focused on her own life, and can’t forget about defeating my daughter, then she becomes an unfitting mother,” Sandro stated firmly.Sandro turned on his heel and exited, closing the door with deliberate care.Gilson felt a flick

I was unwell, barely able to get out of bed.”That wasn’t entirely a lie. Rodolfo couldn’t get out of bed because he was handcuffed, being abused relentlessly by Nadir’s sister-in-law.Nadir, didn’t catching his drift, put her hand on her mouth. “How awful! “That is true,” Clayton conceded, shaking his head. “What I don’t understand is why anyone would want a territorial separation from the Aurelian Monarchy.”“Drakov was dissatisfied with the way things were done at the time,” Mark explained diplomatically, “and he believed he had the right to secession. Many people bought into his speech.”“But now, with how things are going in Aurelia...” Clayton offered an ironic smile. “That guy was completely wrong. If there were complaints, they could be addressed to the Throne without needing a war to do so.”“What Drakov truly wanted was power,” Mark countered. “Popular dissatisfaction was merely the pretext he seized upon to justify his actions.”Clayton leaned forward. “So, has the Braspolis police found anything?”“Nothing to locate Drakov, not yet,” Mark replied, his voice cold.“The Public Safety Council wants to know if they can leave this matter in your hands.” Clayton leaned back. “You still have your operations center and the best men t
