Mark’s concern about the accident only lasted a few seconds after seeing that it had not caused any major consequences.

Still, it was very embarrassing for Adrian to crash his car into a RAM truck that was traveling smoothly, without dreaming that he would be hit by a careless driver.

Adrian got out of the car and immediately went to the owner of the other car, “Did you buy your driver’s license and it came in the mail?”

The driver of the other car squinted. “What are you talking about, man? You were the one who strayed from your lane! You weren’t looking ahead!”

Mark smiled slightly. Indeed, Adrian had parked on the wrong side (the driver’s seat would never be parallel to the sidewalk but in the middle of the street) and when he was supposed to get out, he got distracted because he wanted to provoke Mark.

The driver of the other car got out and started arguing with Adrian. Celia noticed that the driver was wearing light clothes, probably returning from a camping trip with friends due to his choice of vehicle.

The driver was also attractive, making Celia secretly smile.

But upon realizing that Mark was still on the sidewalk, Celia quickly got out of the car and joined Adrian to discuss the indefensible.

“You knew my friend was distracted and went straight in front of him anyway!” Celia increased the absurdity of the argument.

“I couldn’t dodge in time!” The driver complained.

Adrian whined, “Your car is fancier and bigger than mine. Look, the dent got worse on my car. With you, not even a scratch happened!”

“Then let’s call the police so they can decide!” The driver held out his cell phone.

Adrian’s legs shook a little. “Ehr... I don’t think you need to involve the police, my friend. Maybe if we discuss some monetary values...”

While the discussion was going on, Mark looked the other way and noticed another car, a red Aston Martin, approaching and parking behind the Dodge Ram.

When the driver’s door opened, Mark saw a woman wearing glasses and business clothes. He smiled, recognizing her.

As Linda approached, she was surprised by the car crash. “Lord Ferro, what happened here? Why are you in the middle of this mess?”

“The woman arguing over there is my ex-wife.” Mark smiled slightly.

“WHAT?” Linda looked incredulously at the young lady who had left her boss for that clumsy paunch.

She didn’t witness the accident, but she could tell by looking at Adrian’s car that he was in the wrong.

Shaking her head, Linda turned to Mark, “Lord Ferro, I came to get you. Please, let’s get out of here and avoid this ridiculous scene.”

Linda’s voice reached Celia’s ears and she was shocked.

“Hey, who are you, and why are you talking to my ex-husband in that tone?” She approached them.

“Are you Lady Ferro?”

“EX-Lady Ferro, with great pleasure!” Celia lifted her chin.

“I’m sorry for the bad decision you made.” Linda couldn’t control herself, “You’re the perfect definition of ‘exchanging the right for the doubtful’.”

Celia is mortified. “But who do you think you are to talk to me like that?”

“Watch what you say, Celia!” Mark warns her, “You’re causing a scene.”

Adrian approaches his ‘girlfriend’. “Celia, darling, don’t bother with these people. You don’t have to interfere in his life anymore.”

“Exactly.” Linda confirms, “You now have to worry about this citizen who got you into trouble as soon as the divorce came through.”

Adrian is also irritated, “Hey, miss, there’s no problem here. Me and the other driver there will solve this in a good way!”

Linda smiles mockingly. “You think you’re a prince, but you’re a frog that no princess will dare kiss!”

“WHAT?” Adrian turns to Mark. Does he have anything to do with this?

Mark and Linda looked at each other in understanding and decided not to give any further satisfaction. They leave and get into the Aston Martin.

Celia, Adrian, and the driver of the Dodge Ram were amazed as the luxury car disappeared from their sight.

Then came the realization on Celia’s part, “But... But... How is that possible? Where does Mark know that secretary from?”

“Did she look like a secretary?” Adrian asked dumbfounded, “With that big car...”

The owner of the Dodge Ram looked at them as if they were nothing more than fools. “Doesn’t it occur to you that those two are rich?”

“RICH?” Celia tilts her head back, “HA, HA, HA! My pal, I was his wife! He’s a janitor at the company I work for!”

“How do you explain that girl and the big car?” The driver crossed his arms.

“Ah, he must have hired that girl as an actress to come here and pretend to be rich in front of us.” Adrian can only think about this idea.

“That could have been it, Adrian.” Celia shakes her head, “Mark can’t be that rich and have lived with me in poverty.”

He had a rough night.”Katrina tilted her head, her tone burning with mockery. “Couldn’t sleep because of your heat cycle?”The typing stopped dead. Nadir shot her niece a glare sharp enough to cut glass.“You have no right to judge me,” she snapped. “At least I was married when I got pregnant with your cousin.”Katrina’s eyes gleamed with malice. “At least Uncle Sandro wasn’t some slum rat.”The printer clicked to a stop. Nadir rolled her eyes and returned to the computer, making a few quick clicks before standing up.The printer started again, spitting out another batch of pages. She gathered the printed documents into a neat stack, smoothing them with meticulous care.“Since Sandro is home, I’m printing all the available information about ‘Live Your Life’,” sh

You finally learned to value yourself!”Karl shook his head. “I don’t know why it took you so long to wake up.”Jake eyed him with suspicion, unsure whether Karl’s disdain for Celia was genuine or exaggerated. But Karl changed the subject before Jake could respond.“Now, about our company…” Karl gestured toward the wall. “What do you make of this?”From their perspective, the words “Down with gratuitous violence” somewhat intimidated them.A few employees snapped pictures wit

Gene was already at his desk when the call came through, his expression marked by curiosity and irritation.“Manager Ferro,” he began, “have you heard what happened here?”“I’m at the police station,” Mark replied evenly. “Something about my car.”“Ah, right… but something else happened. And it might explain the whole thing.” Gene’s tone shifted, his curiosity growing darker. “Someone vandalized the wall facing the parking lot. Slogans protesting ‘Times of Glory’.”Mark suppressed a smirk, careful not to let Ribeiro or Mary Ellen catch the amusement flickering in his eyes.“Really?” he asked, feigning surprise. “Any idea who could’ve done it?”“Looks like religious groups, conservatives, or those social media crusaders who think they’re saving the world,” Gene said, exasperated. “They forget we’re producing a fictional series, one that takes place in a time when human rights weren’t what they are today.”Mark chuckled softly. “And, of course, they picked my car because it’s the oldest

You could’ve been a thief, for all I knew.”“Lucky you, then,” she replied bitterly.“How long have you been here?”“For ages!” she yelled. “I called you, you didn’t hear me?”Jake emptied the eggs onto his plate, setting the pan neatly into the spotless sink.Celia noticed the gleaming surfaces, the counters free of grime, and the scent of disinfectant.“You didn’t have to clean everything by yourself,” she muttered.“I needed to get used to it again,” he said flatly.“Used to what?” Her voice sharpened.“Cleaning up alone, of course. After all, there won’t be anyone else around to help anymore.” He paused, irony cutting through his tone. “Wait: there wasn’t anyone helping before, was th

He lifted his gaze toward the security camera mounted above and pointed at it with quiet authority.“Tell me we caught something,” he said, his tone measured but commanding.“We did, Lord Ferro,” Regis replied, his voice formal.“But I suppose you’re about to tell me we won’t know who it was,” Mark continued, his eyes narrowing.Regis hesitated. “Lord Ferro… it won’t be an easy task.”Everton, still tense, exhaled heavily. “If only we knew what this is about... who these people are, and why now?”Mark scanned the garage again, his lips pressing into a thin line. Silence filled the space.“I don’t believe that fool will try again,” he muttered finally. “All we c
