Rachel couldn't believe her ears. It felt like her senses were playing tricks on her. Whose voice was that? She thought to herself, staring in shock as though her eyes had lost their lights.

Her body began to tremble, and the phone slipped down to the floor. Seeing this, Stephen suspected something might have happened so he came at her.

“Mom, what's wrong?” He asked, but she was too lost to reply. After a while of staring blankly at the wider space, she spoke nervously.

“Get the car now! We are going to the White House!” She yelled. From how terrifying her actions were, Stephen was alerted that there was trouble.

He ran into the house and brought back the car key, showing it off to her eyes, and then she followed him outside. They hurriedly hopped into the car and left.

“What nonsense are you saying?” Rachel found her courage back as she started walking forward. “Is this how you want to frame me for something I didn't do?” She fumed.“And you,” She pointed at Caroline. “You ungrateful child. Should you put your sins on my head? Do I look like someone who can sell my family off?” She thundered.“What the heck are you saying, Mom? Weren't you the one who invited me into a hotel and sold me off to Micheal Du?” Caroline countered her. “Are you going to accuse me again? One more word from you and you'll receive five of my fingers to that filthy face of yours?” Rachel kept grumbling, but all along she was avoiding Harrison's gaze. She didn't care what he thought. After all, Grandmother was the one who had the final say here.“Don't…” Caroline wanted to continue, but Harrison tugged her arm again and she kept quiet.“Rachel, are you telling me all the accusations are false?” Grandmother called out to her.“Yes, mother!” Rachel replied firmly.“Grandmother

Although there were coincidences, they could swear someone like him would never show up if Harrison called him. “My child, you can't do this to us. Remember you are from this family. My husband took you in, clothed you, and gave you his daughter. Please rethink this.” Grandmother begged, rubbing her both arms together.“Please Harrison, we can all go back to how we were before. One happy family. Please don't do this to us.” Rachel begged. She never thought this day would come when she would grovel on Harrison's feet. Never! Until now, it still felt like after all this was over she would wake up from sleep.“Go back to how we were? Tell me how were we before? Did you even look at me as one of you before?” Harrison picked offense.“Caroline, please talk to your husband. You can't let him do this to us, right?” Rachel pleaded again.Harrison's heart skipped a beat as he thought his wife could have a soft spot for them. Since she was his wife, he respected her more than anything. If she were to plead on their behalf, Harrison feared he might be pushed to do what he didn't want to.“I should talk t

Linda broke in sweat as she stood close to Grandmother. In such a state, it was harder than she thought. Her head was still banging on the inside, and she was yet to know what the old woman had on her mind.“Where were you planning to go? Follow him? You want to go and enjoy riches and leave us down here?” Grandmother snapped, advancing towards her until she was cornered to the wall.“I didn't mean to…”“You didn't mean to what? I saw you, didn't I? Or are you trying to deny it?” Grandmother cut her off.“Mom, you don't have to be so hard on her like that.” Rachel walked towards them. She couldn't ignore the situation, and the fact that they lost a deal with Edward was still hurting her. All the plans she had now would be led to waste. Her family would be a ruin now.“And who gave you the right to speak to me like that? Is it because I wasn't harsh on you at first? They walked into the house and everyone who was waiting could finally welcome them.“Welcome home, young master. Welcome home, young mistress.” They chanted together, bowing their heads down. “Wife, I’ll have you take over the company tomorrow.” Harrison broke the silence after a long while of eating. A smile was on his face as he spoke the words, looking straight at her.“Take over the company? What do you mean?” Caroline was caught on her tongue. Even though she was stuffed and glued to her chair, she couldn’t help but give him that reaction as it seemed her body moved on its own.“Yes. You’ll be taking over Samson company. All of it would be yours, and you will be partnering with Sterling Corporation which is my company. Everything you once wanted will be yours.” Harrison spoke calmly since he knew she was shocked and still trying to process everything. Her dream had been to work in that company for a long while now, but each time she brought the requests to her mother or grandmother none of them paid attention to her. The end

“You must have thought you were way too smart to be dealt with. You got me so bad that I thought I was done for. I have never faced an opponent like you and for that, I’ll give you a ten. You are damn good!” Harrison said with a hint of mockery in his tone and Edward became pissed. However, he tried to think about what went wrong to make his plan fail and how it was so hard for him to figure out what was going on. In a thousand years, he would never expect someone as low as Ramon to be able to exceed him in intellectual strategy.“What? Don’t tell me you are spacing out at such times. And why weren’t you able to figure out what was going on? I mean, you have cameras watching, don't you?” Harrison said sarcastically.Edward felt pressured and it felt like the right time for Harrison to make it harder on him. After all, Harrison suffered the same fate earlier.“How did I not figure this out?” Edward finally said, scolding himself.“Because you are so dumb to notice.” Harrison fired at h

    A miscalculated plan

Being indoors for a long while had made their senses a bit shaken off and when they had to adjust to a sudden brightness, they couldn’t help but blink their eyes multiple times.Everyone was shocked to see someone had walked into a room. An unknown someone they didn’t know but were so desperate to see his face, yet their sight was failing to adjust to the light. However, after the figure spoke, every single effect of the sudden brightness was washed off and replaced with curiosity.Starting from the leg, everyone scanned the figure from the toe, slowly heading to his face. When they arrived at the finish point, they all nearly fell on their backs.“Ramon?” Everyone yelled seemingly as though they had seen a ghost. It had to be a ghost right, or maybe their senses were playing tricks on them? They just couldn’t figure it out as their jaws were wide open, almost dropping to the floor.“Jesus Christ! What the hell is this?” Edward yelled, shaking his head from side to side to see if ever

Back inside the small cabin in the rural area.Edward and the others were seated on the couch watching the Television. They weren’t watching the news but something else. There were some wireless connected cameras fixed in some certain place while the television displayed each of those scenes that happened in each place Furthermore, there was a remote control in Edward’s hand, and he was able to make each scene that was showing in a mini spot on the screen occupy the whole screen, so everyone could have their view of what was happening.Right there, on the screen, it was showing that Harrison just walked into the hospital ward. Not only could Edward and the others watch what was going on, but they were able to hear the conversation that was going on.Meanwhile, Larry who was seated at the far end of the room was enjoying the show the most since he was the one who delivered the flower directly to her. He played his part so well that she was unable to recognize him. Of course, he was pu

    Strange flowers

“Linda right?” Caroline asked, and the delivery man nodded at her before handing the flowers to her. She extended her hand and grabbed the vase. It was such a perfect piece as it had an ancient drawing sculptured on it. The material looked like glass, yet it was made of wood. The way it was polished alone was unique and must be a very costly piece. At once glance, Caroline took notice of it but what she was more invested about was how nice the flowers were. She couldn't resist the urge to dip her nose into it and allow the fragrance to waft into her nostrils.Bang!Just then the door was pushed open and Lucas pushed his head in. The moment he saw her with flowers he was shocked as he knew it wasn't there before and it wasn't like he saw anyone bring it in.That was when Caroline pulled out of the enjoyable feeling she was in. Her mind ran back to the lad who brought the flowers, and she wanted to thank him but after looking she noticed he was nowhere to be found. Rather, there was Lu

    An apology

“Hello sis, how are you doing?” Linda's voice rang through the phone as soon as the call was picked up, and the receiver was left in shock. It took a while and there was no response. Nervously, Linda peeked glances at the phone to see if it was disconnected, but it wasn't.“Caroline? Are you there?” She called out again before a reply came through.“What do you want?” Caroline replied seemingly disgusted. “Are you calling to make more trouble? Remember I don't have that time at the moment, please.” She concluded and wanted to end the call when Linda spoke.“I am sorry.” She said and shockingly, Caroline couldn't bring herself to hang up. The words she just heard were too good to be true, yet it didn't feel like she was dreaming.Linda just apologized? Caroline started doubting her senses. She was unable to let herself fall for such a trap like before. She had witnessed too much and it was energy draining. Her stepmother pointed a gun at her and would have killed her if not for a mira

    The callers intention

“Shit! The police department?” Whitman murmured the words out, as he would rather not be noticed by the caller. Moreover, everyone had their guard up thinking the place was surrounded by the police. There wasn’t any siren sound or any movement, so it must be an unnoticeable operation, right? Those were the thoughts that were running inside their heads as quickly Larry and Raymond took a peep at the window but there was no one outside. They felt a sigh of relief, but that didn’t quench their suspicion. They knew not to let their guard down. Never.“Yes, who am I speaking with?” Edward replied trying hard to keep his composure. He suddenly looked calm and collected like he wasn’t the same person who was nervous not long ago.Already he had speculated that whoever it was, it had to be someone who knew him. The number was private and after picking up, the caller said he was from the police department. After realizing all this, Edward wanted to laugh out loud, but he chose to play along fi

    Stand down

“What’s the meaning of this? Why are you pointing a gun at my head?” Whitman was shocked by the turn of events. He didn’t expect them to come to his house and threaten him.“You are his ally ain’t you? I’ve seen you a couple of times with that brat called Harrison. Who knows, maybe you are here working for him undercover.” Larry spits his suspicion while Raymond nods his head in support.“Stand down!” Edward snapped but was being ignored. “I said bring the gun down!” He said again and yet no one paid a listening ear to him.“It’s the opposite. I am working with Edward here to bring Harrison down.” Whitman explained.“What? Don’t be shitting me. You are the same person who gave out our hideout to Harrison, and you want us to believe you? You should talk fast before I put four bullets into your thick skull!” Larry threatened. The look on his face was so cold, signifying his threats wasn’t a bluff. Already, he had adjusted the gun and had his finger wrapped around the trigger button. Any

    Loyal to the young master

The tension became hot and it felt like air was sucked out of their lungs leaving them dry and vulnerable. That should be the time when they should bow their heads and beg for forgiveness, but the men didn’t look like they would.Though they were shocked by his words, there was no trace of fear radiating off them. It felt like they had gradually made up their minds to accept death.Noticing this, Whitman was quite stunned. He knew their loyalty was as tough as a rock, but in the face of death, anyone was supposed to shiver.Smiling, he pulled out a gun and cracked it, then pointed it at one of them.“Swear loyalty to me and I will spare your life.” He said instead as the thought of using them against Harrison would seem befitting to him.“Tch!” All the men spat at his face at once as though they were all in sync with each other. Their eyes were stern as they held nothing but disgust. If not for the fact that they were being tied, they would have lunged at him by now.“Wrap things up
