Turning towards Harrison and seeing the cold gaze on his face, Maxwell instantly knew there was no way he could get the tape out. It seemed Harrison had grasped his intention. Just now he was considering doing a comeback on Harrison by replacing the tape with something else to frame Harrison and put him in jail, but that attempt was easily seen through.

“Okay,” Maxwell swallowed hard and dropped the tape back on the table before walking out. He dared not say anything else as the kind of eyes that were staring at him were as though they were going to burn him up.

“I see, he is a cunning bastard!” Lucas turned towards Harrison, smirking.

“How is your health? I should have known not to stress you, but it wasn’t like I had a choice.” Harrison said, with a hint of pity in his tone.

“It’s nothing, young master. Even on my deathbed, if you call me, I’ll come running.” Lucas bowed in respect, while Harrison smiled at him.

For the first time in days, he had smiled and that wasn’t out of conten

The world felt like it was spinning around and maybe the person who was standing there was a ghost but not the real person. Harrison was supposed to be in the cell, but not in this place. She began to doubt her senses, thinking she was seeing things.“Who could have thought after betraying me, that you would still come back to my company?” Harrison smirked after starring for a while. He didn’t expect to see her here. If he was told on the way that she would be here, he could have argued to death.“Harrison…boss?” She stammered, rolling her eyes and trying to figure out what to do next. How could he have gotten out of prison? She needed to tell Edward about this. Slowly, she began to trace her hand below the counter to access her phone.Other workers were also watching what was going on as they saw the news. They wanted an explanation for all that, but the fact that they were seeing Harrison could mean only one thing. The allegations were false.“I wouldn’t try that if I were you!” Har

Pak!A gunshot emerged out of nowhere, and this time the location wasn’t specific. It felt like it was coming from a different direction and this time it was aimed at Harrison. If not for that he quickly ducked behind a couch, he could have been hit.Lucas and Ramon had scattered around to save themselves right after Harrison jumped. He was the one who pushed them off before jumping or else Ramon and Lucas could have used their body to shield him from the bullets.Quickly, Harrison rolled out of the spot he was in and hid behind his working desk. Everyone was vigilant as they knew just a slight movement would earn them a shot. There was still a sign of sniper light aimlessly moving around the room searching for a target.“The shooter is still there,” Harrison said to Lucas and slowly gestured for him to use his phone.Without hearing a detailed explanation, Ramon knew what he meant so he took out his phone typed in some messages, and hit the send button.Afterward, he signaled Harriso

Meanwhile, back in Samson's villa.“Tell me, Edward. What was that about? Why don’t you tell me everything? When did you start working with those guys, and you didn’t feel like my consent was needed?” Linda snapped as soon as they walked into the house. She had been holding it all in since they were in that house and throughout the drive until they had gotten to this mansion. Anger was written on her face as she yelled with so single fear radiating off her. If she was scared of him, that was before, but not anymore.“What is your point here?” Edward replied, and it felt like it was his turn to do the yelling. His brows creased, and he was staring at her with pure disgust on his face. Linda had to swallow all that anger in, as she felt she wouldn’t last long with it.“Do I need to tell you all of my plans?” He pointed at her with an index finger. “Do I need to tell you everything? Look here, you are just a pawn to me so don’t even get high of yourself or think we are colleagues.” He sn

The door came open and a figure emerged.“Harrison?” Linda gasped immediately after he walked in. It felt like she was the only one who could talk, while the others had lost their voice. They tried to say something but nothing was coming out of their mouth.Especially Edward, he felt so tense and broke a sweat. He didn’t see this coming. He never anticipated such a thing would happen even Harrison getting out of prison. The evidence against him was concrete so how come? Was he missing something? Edward thought to himself.Meanwhile, Harrison was also looking at him in particular with suspicion filled in his eyes. He remembered who Edward was, as he was the same person who wanted to partner with his wife’s company. Why was he here, or was he a snitch? So many thoughts were piling up in Harrison's head, and he couldn’t find an answer to it all.The situation had now turned out to be a staring contest, as no one was saying anything. They couldn’t comprehend if he was playing a prank on them or if he was telling the truth. Not long ago, he didn’t accuse Edward of anything. He even apologized to him, but now all of a sudden he was saying Edward was the enemy? What kind of twisted mystery was this?Seeing this, Harrison figured he had put their head in chaos. Even though he was angry, he wanted to break it down for them so they would know he wasn’t a fool. But before then, he took out his phone and sent a text quickly before sliding his phone back into his pocket and facing them.“What did you just do?” Rachel asked as she figured that text had to do with what he just said.“You want to know?” Harrison asked, racing a brow at her before deciding to tell her anyway. “I have my men trailing after Edward. He will be monitored, so he doesn't make any calls until I find my wife.” He explained and her eyes widened.“This can’t be happening, I ha

“Drop the gun, damn it!” We don’t know what you are talking about.” Rachel snapped and the both of them hugged each other, shivering in fear.“You know what I mean. Since Raymond is working for you, then I am sure he must have contacted you and told you where he kept her. Better start talking, as my patience wouldn’t last long.” Harrison warned again, strengthening the gun.It was the only way to get answers from them, as using mere words wouldn’t work. He knew them to be stubborn, that was why he resulted in using this. Though they looked like they were shivering, he knew it wasn’t enough to make them spill it all out.“We don’t know where she is! Just leave us and go!” Linda pleaded, but he ignored her.“Rachel, are you going to talk now, or should I start shooting? Or you can call Raymond to release her.” Harrison suggested.“We are no longer in contact with each other. Can't you tell? Anyone who has a gun pointed at him will reveal the truth easily. After all, Harrison wouldn’t let him walk out freely.Meanwhile, Caroline, who was stuck, had her eyes fixed on her husband. So many emotions glinted off her eyes as it felt like hope was breathed into her. She was told he was sentenced to life imprisonment, but here he was. He was ready to go down to hell but as for his son, he wanted him to live at least.“And why should I do that? He was the one who shot me. Why didn’t you tell him anything?” Harrison replied.“You are the enemy. You don’t expect us not to kill you, right?” Raymond replied.“You are my enemy now, so don’t expect me to spare you, right?" Harrison said, but there was reluctance in his gestures. He didn’t want to kill them after he knew he made their lives miserable. Though they caused it themselves and might have gone down another path, they chose this one.“Why do you hesitate? You can’t shoot?” Larry said with a mocking smile.“We should call the cops instead,” Caroline suggested as she saw how hard he was thinking about it. She wouldn’t want him to be a killer because of her, and also it wasn’t like she wanted anyone dead. What she wanted was a way out of this and never to fall victim again.“You ar

    The end

“You must have thought you were way too smart to be dealt with. You got me so bad that I thought I was done for. I have never faced an opponent like you and for that, I’ll give you a ten. You are damn good!” Harrison said with a hint of mockery in his tone and Edward became pissed. However, he tried to think about what went wrong to make his plan fail and how it was so hard for him to figure out what was going on. In a thousand years, he would never expect someone as low as Ramon to be able to exceed him in intellectual strategy.“What? Don’t tell me you are spacing out at such times. And why weren’t you able to figure out what was going on? I mean, you have cameras watching, don't you?” Harrison said sarcastically.Edward felt pressured and it felt like the right time for Harrison to make it harder on him. After all, Harrison suffered the same fate earlier.“How did I not figure this out?” Edward finally said, scolding himself.“Because you are so dumb to notice.” Harrison fired at h

    A miscalculated plan

Being indoors for a long while had made their senses a bit shaken off and when they had to adjust to a sudden brightness, they couldn’t help but blink their eyes multiple times.Everyone was shocked to see someone had walked into a room. An unknown someone they didn’t know but were so desperate to see his face, yet their sight was failing to adjust to the light. However, after the figure spoke, every single effect of the sudden brightness was washed off and replaced with curiosity.Starting from the leg, everyone scanned the figure from the toe, slowly heading to his face. When they arrived at the finish point, they all nearly fell on their backs.“Ramon?” Everyone yelled seemingly as though they had seen a ghost. It had to be a ghost right, or maybe their senses were playing tricks on them? They just couldn’t figure it out as their jaws were wide open, almost dropping to the floor.“Jesus Christ! What the hell is this?” Edward yelled, shaking his head from side to side to see if ever

    Boom!

Back inside the small cabin in the rural area.Edward and the others were seated on the couch watching the Television. They weren’t watching the news but something else. There were some wireless connected cameras fixed in some certain place while the television displayed each of those scenes that happened in each place Furthermore, there was a remote control in Edward’s hand, and he was able to make each scene that was showing in a mini spot on the screen occupy the whole screen, so everyone could have their view of what was happening.Right there, on the screen, it was showing that Harrison just walked into the hospital ward. Not only could Edward and the others watch what was going on, but they were able to hear the conversation that was going on.Meanwhile, Larry who was seated at the far end of the room was enjoying the show the most since he was the one who delivered the flower directly to her. He played his part so well that she was unable to recognize him. Of course, he was pu

    Strange flowers

“Linda right?” Caroline asked, and the delivery man nodded at her before handing the flowers to her. She extended her hand and grabbed the vase. It was such a perfect piece as it had an ancient drawing sculptured on it. The material looked like glass, yet it was made of wood. The way it was polished alone was unique and must be a very costly piece. At once glance, Caroline took notice of it but what she was more invested about was how nice the flowers were. She couldn't resist the urge to dip her nose into it and allow the fragrance to waft into her nostrils.Bang!Just then the door was pushed open and Lucas pushed his head in. The moment he saw her with flowers he was shocked as he knew it wasn't there before and it wasn't like he saw anyone bring it in.That was when Caroline pulled out of the enjoyable feeling she was in. Her mind ran back to the lad who brought the flowers, and she wanted to thank him but after looking she noticed he was nowhere to be found. Rather, there was Lu

    An apology

“Hello sis, how are you doing?” Linda's voice rang through the phone as soon as the call was picked up, and the receiver was left in shock. It took a while and there was no response. Nervously, Linda peeked glances at the phone to see if it was disconnected, but it wasn't.“Caroline? Are you there?” She called out again before a reply came through.“What do you want?” Caroline replied seemingly disgusted. “Are you calling to make more trouble? Remember I don't have that time at the moment, please.” She concluded and wanted to end the call when Linda spoke.“I am sorry.” She said and shockingly, Caroline couldn't bring herself to hang up. The words she just heard were too good to be true, yet it didn't feel like she was dreaming.Linda just apologized? Caroline started doubting her senses. She was unable to let herself fall for such a trap like before. She had witnessed too much and it was energy draining. Her stepmother pointed a gun at her and would have killed her if not for a mira

    The callers intention

“Shit! The police department?” Whitman murmured the words out, as he would rather not be noticed by the caller. Moreover, everyone had their guard up thinking the place was surrounded by the police. There wasn’t any siren sound or any movement, so it must be an unnoticeable operation, right? Those were the thoughts that were running inside their heads as quickly Larry and Raymond took a peep at the window but there was no one outside. They felt a sigh of relief, but that didn’t quench their suspicion. They knew not to let their guard down. Never.“Yes, who am I speaking with?” Edward replied trying hard to keep his composure. He suddenly looked calm and collected like he wasn’t the same person who was nervous not long ago.Already he had speculated that whoever it was, it had to be someone who knew him. The number was private and after picking up, the caller said he was from the police department. After realizing all this, Edward wanted to laugh out loud, but he chose to play along fi

    Stand down

“What’s the meaning of this? Why are you pointing a gun at my head?” Whitman was shocked by the turn of events. He didn’t expect them to come to his house and threaten him.“You are his ally ain’t you? I’ve seen you a couple of times with that brat called Harrison. Who knows, maybe you are here working for him undercover.” Larry spits his suspicion while Raymond nods his head in support.“Stand down!” Edward snapped but was being ignored. “I said bring the gun down!” He said again and yet no one paid a listening ear to him.“It’s the opposite. I am working with Edward here to bring Harrison down.” Whitman explained.“What? Don’t be shitting me. You are the same person who gave out our hideout to Harrison, and you want us to believe you? You should talk fast before I put four bullets into your thick skull!” Larry threatened. The look on his face was so cold, signifying his threats wasn’t a bluff. Already, he had adjusted the gun and had his finger wrapped around the trigger button. Any

    Loyal to the young master

The tension became hot and it felt like air was sucked out of their lungs leaving them dry and vulnerable. That should be the time when they should bow their heads and beg for forgiveness, but the men didn’t look like they would.Though they were shocked by his words, there was no trace of fear radiating off them. It felt like they had gradually made up their minds to accept death.Noticing this, Whitman was quite stunned. He knew their loyalty was as tough as a rock, but in the face of death, anyone was supposed to shiver.Smiling, he pulled out a gun and cracked it, then pointed it at one of them.“Swear loyalty to me and I will spare your life.” He said instead as the thought of using them against Harrison would seem befitting to him.“Tch!” All the men spat at his face at once as though they were all in sync with each other. Their eyes were stern as they held nothing but disgust. If not for the fact that they were being tied, they would have lunged at him by now.“Wrap things up
