Chapter 7

Alvin was transfixed. Right before his eyes, he saw Rose kissing passionately with Tom, his own best friend!

"Wha-what the..." Alvin's voice was choked. His legs reflexively retreated backwards. His trembling body made his grip on the coffee cup and plastic snacks slip.

The sound of the plastic gurgling and the coffee cup falling to the floor made Rose and Tom stare in shock. Their hot kiss then ended. They turned around and found Alvin with scattered groceries and spilled coffee liquid on the floor.

Rose and Tom were actually no less shocked than Alvin. However, they did not immediately separate themselves. Their bodies seemed to be intimately pressed together on the sofa.

Tom's upper body was naked, and he was pressing against Rose's sexy body, which was only wearing red lingerie.

Rose still had her arms around Tom's neck, while Tom was still holding Rose's thighs that were exposed under her miniskirt. Only their eyes were both bulging in shock at Alvin's presence.

"You guys..." Alvin's gaze began to fill with emotion. His hands were clenched into fists, the look in his eyes filled with rage. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY GIRLFRIEND, TOM?!"

"Tsk!" Rose reacted first. She pushed Tom off her body and sat down while fixing her skimpy clothes. "Don't overdo it, Alvin! You're annoying!" she said sharply.

"What?!" Alvin took a step forward, not accepting Rose's words. "How do you think I should react to seeing my girlfriend kissing hotly on the sofa with my own best friend?!"

"THEN WHY DID YOU DARE TO COME HERE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION?!"

"WHY SHOULD I ASK FOR PERMISSION?! I'M YOUR BOYFRIEND, ROSE!"

The living room was heating up. Alvin and Rose's shouting back and forth made the air seem to turn into a blaze of fire. Both of them were so emotional that they were breathing hard with angry eyes.

Alvin snorted in disbelief. "Why, Rose? If I had asked permission before coming here, wouldn't you have done this? You would have put it off and done it when I was gone? Is that so?"

Rose didn't answer. She chose to look away with her arms crossed. That was the pose of someone who didn't want to listen to any more words.

"You, Tom!" Alvin then turned to look at Tom.

He advanced towards him and immediately pulled his arm for Tom to stand up.

Now, the look in Alvin's eyes was full of disappointment. "How dare you, Tom...? To my girlfriend...?"

Tom momentarily looked up while snorting loudly at Alvin's disdain.

"So what? You feel betrayed?" he said while roughly slammed Alvin's grip on his arm.

Tom then moved forward to corner Alvin. He also intimidated Alvin with his sharp gaze.

"You're a stupid man, Alvin! Do you think Rose would want a man like you?"

"But you're my friend, Tom! I even consider you as my best friend!"

"Fack off!" Tom laughed. He pushed Alvin's chest with his forefinger. "It's only you who thinks like that, stupid! Only you would think that a pathetic person like you could still have a girlfriend and friends!"

Tom looked at Alvin with a pitying gaze. "What a poor man...," he added.

It was like lightning struck Alvin's body when he heard Tom's words. At that moment, he finally fully realized that they had betrayed him.

The happy memories he had with them all this time were rapidly spinning in his head, and they were finally shattered into pieces.

Alvin took a few steps back with unsteady steps. His face was pale red. His body was trembling even more. He looked at Rose and Tom in turn.

"Then... since when...?" His voice choked up again. "Rose! Tell me! How long have you been playing behind my back?!" he shouted at Rose.

Rose gritted her teeth and stood up with a rough movement. "I really can't stand you anymore, Alvin! You're such a lousy and annoying guy, don't you know that?!"

She came forward.

"Alright! I'll be honest now! Just so you know how bad you are!"

In front of Alvin, Rose moved suddenly pulling Tom up. She stood on tiptoe, then quickly kissed Tom on the lips.

Alvin's eyes were perfectly round. He reflexively held on to the wall when he witnessed that crazy scene once again.

In fact, Tom even returned Rose's kiss and deepened it, as if he didn't care about Alvin's feelings at that moment.

"You see?" Rose made another sound after releasing her lips from Tom's kiss.

She looked at Alvin with a scornful gaze. "I've never let you touch me even a fingernail's worth of stuff, but I can easily do that with Tom. What do you think that is, hm?"

While throwing those words, Rose approached Alvin and then whispered continued, "That is because, actually..., my real boyfriend is Tom, Alvin. We've been dating for a long time, ever since we were in high school."

Alvin was stunned in shock.

"And you? You're a lousy young man that we used for our own pleasure! Someone we can easily order around, who can easily bow at my feet, who can be easily tricked. You are nothing more than a puppet, Alvin! A pathetic puppet that turned out to be useless!"

Rose giggled wickedly. "Now, have you understood the situation, Alvin?"

She then patted Alvin's cheek twice and laughed enjoying the surprised expression on Alvin's face.

"I'll admit, you are indeed handsome, Alvin. Your blue eyes are beautiful. Your brown hair is mesmerizing. You're also tall and perfect. But, your body odor very clearly shows how poor you are. If you were rich, perhaps... your fate wouldn't be this miserable?" Rose shrugged at the end of her sentence.

Alvin was even too stunned to reply to everything he heard from Rose's poisonous mouth. Terrible facts that he unfortunately only found out today. Alvin only found out about them after all the unfair treatment he received from Rose and Tom.

Yeah. Alvin now realized how pathetic he was in Rose and Tom's eyes. Alvin just realized that all this time, they would only come to him when they needed something from him.

Rose would only be sweet to Alvin when she wanted to borrow money, ask for help, and take advantage of Alvin's feelings as much as possible. If there was nothing else she could use from Alvin, she wouldn't hesitate to throw him away.

Tom is the same way. He doesn't even hesitate to play pranks on Alvin and insult him like Samuel and Jackson did. But Tom is more manipulative and can make Alvin forgive him quickly. What a scary guy!

Unfortunately, there was nothing else Alvin could do. He could now only hear the devil voices of Rose and Tom laughing at him while leaving him alone in the living room.

The two devils went to the room and locked the door right in front of Alvin. As if it wasn't sad enough, Alvin still got to see how Tom wrapped his arms around Rose's waist intimately and how they started kissing hotly again before the door was completely shut.

"I'm fed up, John! How much longer do I have to wait?!"

At the Cooper family's mansion, Albert complained to John loudly while holding his dizzy head.

"Is it that hard to drag Alvin to me?" He looked up at John who was standing beside his chair. "Was it that hard for you to get Alvin to obey you?"

"No, sir. It's not like that," John replied quickly. His hands were behind his body and his eyes lowered in submission before his master.

"Then, why?! Why didn't you bring him here, huh?!" shouted Albert while he placed his coffee cup loudly on the table.

John was momentarily stunned as if afraid that the cup would be thrown at his head. Then, when he felt safe, he finally got the courage to answer, "I think it would be best if young master appeared to you of his own free will, sir. I couldn't possibly bring him here when he's still so doubtful about everything I've told him."

"I only wish to perfect your plan, sir," John continued while he raised his gaze slightly at Albert.

John's glance seemed serious and earnest. He had worked for decades with Albert, so Albert actually understood his subordinate's intentions. That's why Albert couldn't say much and could only chuckle because he was still not satisfied.

Silence finally dominated the lounge room that Albert and his loyal subordinate occupied. The view of the mansion's back garden was visible from the large window in front of Albert and John. They unconsciously directed their eyes there.

But, a moment later, the silence between them was finally broken by the sound of a cell phone ringing. Albert turned his head when he heard John's cell phone ringing loudly. He then made an eye gesture to allow John to pick up the call.

John hurriedly moved to the corner of the room and picked up the call from an unknown number.

"Hello--"

"What will I get if I go back there?"

The no-nonsense question John heard made John frown in confusion. However, his eyebrows immediately raised in surprise after recognizing the caller's voice. "Young master?!"

Albert was stunned and reflexively turned his head towards John. He and John then looked at each other.

As if he understood, John immediately pressed the speaker button so that Albert could also hear his conversation with Alvin.

"Just answer my question, sir! What can I get if I go back to the Cooper family?!" Alvin, the caller, sounded very emotional.

John finally returned his expression and replied calmly, "Everything, young master. As Henry Alexander Cooper, you can have everything."

Now, Albert was standing in front of John. He grinned with satisfaction knowing that his plan would soon be realized.

Alvin, who at the same time was cowering in the dark and dingy room of his apartment, then made the biggest decision of his life. He said, "Alright! I want that 'everything', sir! I want the hospital bills for my mother's treatment paid off, I want my body odor to be full of wealth, I want everyone to regret treating me like trash!"

Alvin took a deep breath. "Now, pick me up and bring that 'Henry Alexander Cooper' name to me!"
