That morning, the sun began to show its light, illuminating the vast courtyard of the Smith residence. However, for Arkanza, the morning light did not bring warmth. His body still ached from the wounds he had hidden. A full night’s sleep was not enough to restore his condition.

Albert was still watching him with suspicion, but he didn’t ask any further. He kept his promise to keep Arkanza’s condition a secret—at least for now. However, that didn’t mean he didn’t have questions swirling in his mind.

Arkanza slowly got out of bed. Every muscle in his body screamed in protest, but he forced himself to stay upright. Today, he had to go to campus as usual. There was no reason to stay home and attract more attention from the Smith family.

After getting ready, he put on a long-sleeved shirt and a jacket to cover the wounds on his body. His steps felt heavier than usual as he walked out of his room.

Albert, who was standing by the door, simply stared at him in silence.

Arkanza sat at the edge of his bed, his hand gripping a document he had just received. His eyes scanned every word within it, and the longer he read, the deeper the frown on his forehead became. The document contained information about Isabella's death—not just an ordinary report, but proof that she had not died in an accident. She had been murdered. But what truly shocked Arkanza was not the fact that Isabella had been killed. He had suspected that for a long time. What left him speechless was the name of the perpetrator written in the report.Maria Samanta.Maria, his current stepmother. Maria, Adam Smith's wife. Maria, the woman who had always shown a gentle face in front of him.Arkanza slowly closed the document and placed it on the bedside table. His body leaned against the headboard, and unconsciously, a soft chuckle escaped his lips.At first, the laughter was small, almost like a murmur. Ever since Arkanza started showing a different attitude, Maria knew she couldn't avoid the questions that would come. And today, those questions had finally arrived.Norman and Amber stood before her, their expressions showing clear dissatisfaction."Why have you been siding with Arkanza so much lately?" Norman opened the conversation in a sharp tone, his arms crossed over his chest.Amber nodded in agreement. "You're not acting like yourself. You always reminded us to keep our distance from him, but now? You even seem to be protecting him."Maria took a deep breath and placed her tea cup on the table. Her eyes met those of her two children standing in front of her."Nothing has changed," she said calmly. "I just want to keep the peace in this family."Amber scoffed. "Peace? Albert carried a tray of tea to Arkanza’s room, his steps as steady as ever. He knocked on the door before entering and placed the porcelain cup on the table, but his eyes immediately caught something unusual.Arkanza, who usually wore casual clothes at home, now looked impeccably dressed. His white shirt was perfectly ironed, a sleek black suit framed his figure, and his normally messy hair was neatLy styled. There was even a faint trace of cologne lingering in the air.Albert frowned. “Saturday night, and you're dressed this neatly?” he asked, suspicious. “Where are you going, Young Master?”Arkanza, adjusting his tie in front of the mirror, simply chuckled. He turned to Albert and winked. “I have a date,” he said casually. That word made Albert’s eyebrows furrow even more. He had worked for the Arkanza family for years and knew very well that his young master rarely showed interest in anyone.“With whom?” Albert asked, this time more seriously.Arkanza let out a small laugh as he p

I’m curious, what’s the real reason behind this?”The man didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he opened his phone, reading something on it with a serious expression. Valerie watched him, feeling a bit odd about his behavior.“What are you looking at?” she asked.Arkanza closed his phone and placed it on the table. “A list of possible allergies you might have.”Valerie raised an eyebrow. “Allergies?”Arkanza nodded slowly. “I just want to make sure that whatever we order won’t make you sick.”Valerie smiled slightly, finding Arkanza’s answer a bit excessive. “So, is this the real reason you invited me to dinner?”Arkanza looked at her for a moment, then let out a short sigh. “Not really. He stared at the list with deep concentration, then picked up a pen and crossed out a few items.Steak.The first thing he crossed out was steak. After dinner earlier, there had been no unusual reaction from his body. Red meat wasn’t a problem for him. Then, he crossed out several ingredients used in sauces and basic seasonings.Butter, black pepper, rosemary, mustard. He had consumed all these ingredients many times before, and no allergic reactions had ever occurred. No symptoms of breathlessness, itching, or nausea. That meant all of these ingredients were safe for him.Arkanza set the pen down and leaned back in his chair. In his hand, he tightly gripped a letter he had found in Arkanza’s room. A short message—an unmistakable sign that Arkanza had decided to leave. To leave him. And Milan had no doubt who was behind that sudden decision."You’re the one who influenced him, aren’t you?" Milan accused bluntly the moment he entered Albert’s room.Albert, calmly seated behind his desk, met Milan’s gaze with sharp but cold eyes. “What are you implying, Milan?”“Don’t play dumb! Arkanza left because of you! You’ve been filling his head with nonsense, making him believe this place isn’t for him!”“That’s not true,” Albert replied calmly. “Arkanza made that decision on his own. I never forced him to leave.”“But you were always with him, whispering things that made him doubt me! You wanted to separate us!”Before Albert could respond, Vikram ente

The room was dim. Only the glow from the surveillance screens illuminated Milan and Vikram’s serious faces. They also knew this was no ordinary meeting.Footsteps approached. Then the door opened.“So you two are here,” Arkanza’s voice was calm, but carried a pressure that made both men instantly stand straight.Arkanza stepped in, dressed entirely in black, a long cloak billowing behind him. His face was different—not the lost young man he once was, but someone who knew where he was going, and more importantly: who his enemy was.“Young master, what are you doing here?” Milan spoke softly, relief in his voice.Vikram remained silent, his eyes sharply observing Arkanza’s every move.
