2025-02-12 22:35:25Prince slid into the car, settling at the passenger's seat. Letting out a deep sigh, he lifted himself and checked out his face in the mirror. He had a black eye and his forehead was swollen.
If it weren't for his shirt that shielded his bare body, he would have had more bruises. However, that didn't stop his body from aching him. Kyle had struck him a few blows at his stomach and chest. He'd admit that the guy was quite tough because the fight lingered on with no winner. If Lovelyn hadn't ended it by slapping him on the face, they would have fought for a long time until there was no energy left for them to continue.
George stood outside for a while as he pondered on what Prince just said. 'What does he mean "my shattered heart". Did his wife cheat on him?' George kept thinking hard.
He lifted his gaze and it fell on the women who were still stunned. The man that they were gossiping about was a rich dude. That didn't look like someone who was pretending. Clearly he has a luxury car and his own butler. Or was this some kind of facade?
George and the women kept exchanging glances with the both confused about different things. He was about to turn around and start towards the car when he heard a loud horn.
Prince had just pressed the horn and the bus the women were waiting for was also approaching. George needed to get their car out of the way.
Swiftly, he went inside and started the car. Zooming off immediately.
The ride to Prince Young estate was a quiet one. However, George was not one to stay quiet. He was curious and needed answers to the questions in his head.
Clearly, Prince was in no mood to talk. Even though the two friends were quite close and had easily chatted in the past, George thought that something was very wrong somewhere. He could not recognize the lively Prince he knew. What really happened?
George, who could not keep his lips sealed, decided to ask the question. He cleared his throat and stole a glance at his friend who was staring indifferently at the car screen. He looked like one who was fuming. Clearly, he was so upset and he wouldn't want to get him more upset. However, he needed answers.
"Boss." George broke the awkward silence between them and Prince turned to glance at him. "What?"
Letting out a deep sigh, he asked. "What happened? You said something about your shattered heart. Tell me, did Lara break your heart? Did she cheat on you or something?"
Prince shook his head.
He opened his mouth and spoke. "I just learned…" Stopping in between the words, Prince said to his friend. "I don't want to talk about it. At least not now, I need some time to think. However, I need you to make some calls to the necessary individuals. I want every deal we have with Lara Norman and Kyle Sherman canceled."
George cast him a questioning look. It was just him and a few of Prince's trusted people who knew about the marriage. And from what he could remember, Lara Norman was Prince's wife who he had helped to place at the limelight after they signed their marriage license.
However, the name 'Kyle' rang a bell. He remembered he was a top rank movie star who was also working with them. What has he got to do with anything? George thought that the guy was very good at his job and that it'd be hard to find a replacement. Lara was also very good, why were their deals being called off.
"And make sure no producer calls them for any shoot and no more endorsements. Pull all the strings you can to achieve it and threaten the ones you can. I just don't want their faces on the screens again, not even for the minute role." Prince continued and George responded.
"Alright Sir."
He was beginning to make out something from all that Prince had just said. His marriage with Lara was over and Kyle was the cause. Maybe the two were having an affair and Prince found out.
How ignorant they were. Lara was unaware that her husband had made her who she was.
Without another word, George continued the ride and a while later, they got to his villa.
The place was a little far from New York city with a lot of vegetation surrounding it. It was the perfect place for someone who so much wanted his privacy. The only people that visited him at his home were his trusted crew members, his lawyer and his best friend George. Yeah, Prince was the biggest movie producer in the industry and one who gives fame yet not famous.
His name could be famous. However, no one knew him to be Prince Young. He was living a low-key life and had never shown his face on the screens. Prince had worked his way up yet only a few people knew him to be Prince Young and they dare not mention it to the media. That's if they don't want to have themselves in a vat of hot oil.
"We're here." George said to him and he carefully alighted. It has been a long time since he came to the place.
Turning to face George in furrowed brows, Prince asked. "How did you get to me so fast? Judging by how cut off this place is from the city?"
George smiled at him. He must have been so bothered that he didn't realize it on time. "I was around the town to check on a location for our next shoot. I saw your call and quickly rushed over to pick you up."
George was not staying at his home but his house was close by. He was staying away from his family house.
Prince only nodded his head and started towards his house. Swiftly, his domestic staff ran to welcome him.
"You're welcome boss. It's nice to finally have you back." One of his security guards greeted him and he only faked a smile and nodded before going into the house.
"Welcome back home and happy birthday Sir."
Prince was stunned to see such a reception. He didn't tell anyone that he was coming home. All he was able to do was let out a sad chuckle as he thought about how his in-laws also surprised him.
Turning to George, he said. "You were able to pull this off from under my nose. However, I can only celebrate my birthday tomorrow when I've served them each a bowl of cold breakfast. Make sure they receive the news at the peak of their celebration." Prince said distantly as he made his way to his room puzzling everyone.
Although George got the point, he was still somewhat in the dark.
