Chapter 68:

The night was shrouded in darkness, the only source of light coming from the soft glow of the yellow room lamp overhead.

Justin sat beside Julie’s bed, his eyes never leaving her petite body as she lay unconscious on the hospital bed. Despite the fatigue that gnawed at his bones, he refused to fall asleep. He only focused on his daughter’s health.

Hours passed, each passing second feeling like an eternity as Justin anxiously waited for any sign of improvement in Julie’s condition. Finally, the door creaked open and Dr. Hayden, Monica’s family doctor, walked in with a solemn look on his face.

Seeing Justin still standing by Julie’s bedside, Dr. Hayden said:

“Please go home and rest. Julie’s condition is not bad, she just needs to finish the medication and rest for a few days and she will be fine. On the contrary, your condition is serious.”

Dr. Hayden said as he looked at Justin’s bandaged hands and his tired and pale face.
