This was not the first time Ricard had made such a suggestion. Each time, Director Valverde would just smile and tell Ricard that she was already enjoying her old age. The orphanage was her home, and watching the children grow up was the happiest thing for her. She could calmly accept anything that might happen, but she couldn't bear to leave these children.

For such a kind elderly person, what could Ricard say? He felt fortunate to have met such a good person like Director Valverde when he was young.

After talking with Director Valverde, Ricard walked to the main yard of the orphanage. Suddenly, he heard a noisy commotion and Lisbeth's angry argument.

“What’s going on?” Ricard frowned. He saw the children standing in the yard, opening carefully packed fruit crates. The fruit, which appeared to be of high quality from the packaging, was mostly rotten or wilted. Some crates, when opened, had thick liquid pooled at the bottom.
