The words shattered the last remnants of Laura’s patience.

Her face twisted with hurt and disgust as she looked at him, her heart sinking.

He wasn’t the man she thought he was; he was weak, willing to abandon her dignity and safety for his own comfort.

It was almost too much to bear.

Emma’s laughter filled the air, mocking and cruel.

“I told you,” she crowed, her voice dripping with satisfaction.

“He’s no man, just a pathetic little coward. Can’t even stand up for his own girlfriend!”

She turned to Laura, her smile widening.

“Looks like I win, doesn’t it?”

“We’re done.”

Laura hissed to Mike, her voice shaking.

“You’re just a spineless, sniveling little coward. Don’t ever come near me again.”

Sabrine could see the pain in Laura’s eyes.

She stepped forward.

“That’s enough,” she said coldly to Emma and Jason, her voice steady despite the fury raging within her.

“I don’t care who you think you are or who you know. We’re done here.”
