His Redemption

Selfish Much

While back at home Richard was in for what anyone would call hell as he got in.

"Li, why are you crying, he asked as he got close to his wife who was crying on the vanity table.

She didn't answer but kept sobbing hard.

"Did my dad say something to you? Richard asked yet again no reaction at this point he let out a sigh going close to touching her but his hand was yanked away.

"Don't touch me, you are the cause of all of these," she yelled.

"How do you mean? " he asked in an exhausted tone while sipping his face from the people of sweat which had tickled down.

"My friends are off to an all-girls paid trip by their husbands while I am here, sitting in front of my vanity set, I don't know what I am doing with you, because you keep hurting me by not providing for me," she said in between sobs.

"Baby, you know why we can't afford trips now, I am the only one working and you depend on me our lifestyle of before can't be the same as now" he explained yet again.

"But you promised to take care of me, you promised to make me live a happy and fulfilled life with no worries, what happened? " she asked in a dramatic gesture blowing her nostril into the tissue she had on the table.

"Yeah, I promised you all that when things were fine! How would I have known things would change within the twinkle of an eye baby? " he asked this time trying to make her understand with him.

But Liana had no mercy, she didn't care she just wanted to be on that trip with her friends even if it meant Richard stealing the money.

"Do what men do, they provide for their women" she said.

In a bid to calm her down, he said what he would regret a little further.

"I'll pay for the trip just sense the details and I'll make the payment" he said.

Her face lit up immediately in excitement as she jumped on him excited about what he had just promised to accomplish.

"I knew you could handle it as the man you are, my name boo, my cash app," she said as she cleaned her tears getting on her tippy toes to give him a quick kiss before she ran out to call her friends and tell them about the newest development.

"We will be going to the Caribbean of St Barts, and I send the information to you right away baby," she said jumping up and down still as her excitement could be seen exuding.

In less than no time Richard's phone pinged and the details for the girl's trip had been sent to his phone.

"The bill can't be that bad_ shit!! What the hell Liana, I can't afford this " he began to say but she wasn't anywhere near him for him to vent his frustrations and reason as to why he couldn't afford such a huge sum.

After going up and down in the room he decided to call his bosom friend to ask for a loan.

"Hey Man, I need a favour from you" he began after exchanging pleasantries with his friend.

"What could that be Richy? " George asked.

"I need a loan of £2000," he requested.

"Damn man, I just invested a huge sum into a business but I could ask a buddy of mine who knows someone who does money loans to help you out, is that okay? " George asked to be sure his friend understood.

In his desperate state to make his wife not bag him to death he accepted.

"Yeah man, that's okay, when do I get to go see him to get the loan? " Richard asked praying no collateral was needed to get the loan.

"You won't get to see him, nobody knows who he is, but you've got to make sure the duration he gives you pays back else his wrath isn't going to be one you want on you" Goerge illustrated.

"Any collateral needed? " he asked hoping it wasn't needed.

"No none needed, we just have to make sure you are ready to pay the money on the said date with the interest he'd add on it" George explained.

It took no time to get to this mysterious loaner who approved the loan within minutes and before Richard could be done with his evening bath the contract was sent to him and he quickly signed and resent to the number that sent it.

After he sent, within seconds the £2000 was sent to him, in his excitement he had not read the document he had just signed on his phone to the end.

He had inputted his signature on every part which needed to be signed electronically and also he just knew his interest was £1000 on top of the £2000 he had just received.

"Honey! I just sent you the money for your trip" he said to Liana as he sat to eat dinner.

"OMG, baby, I love you so much, I mean who wouldn't love a man who provides for his family? Just know I got you always" she said after she paid in for her trip.

"Splash" Richard spat out the meal he had ingested.

"What is it babe? "she asked still looking at her phone.

"Who prepared this poison where is the maid? " Richard asked as he drank more water.

"Oh, I didn't tell you? I don't want her around anymore I want to take over my home, I want to cool for you" She said this time looking up from her phone.

"You can't be serious Liana, this hasn't taste, what did you even prepare? What made you think this was edible? He asked as he got up his air and banged the door so hard it echoed.

She jolted at the outburst and went to taste the food and immediately she put it in her mouth the reaction was next to none.

The same way her husband had sent out the food was the same way she did.

"But it isn't that bad, he is just overreacting," she said to nobody in particular.

Placing the food and dishes on the table she left to continue chatting with her friends on their group chat about their trip to St Barts.

Liana didn't even call Richard to find out where he had gone all she wanted to occupy herself with was the trip and also the extra money she now had in her account from the client they were going to meet at St. Barts.

Just as she had finished her night routine the door opened harshly revealing a dishevelled and bloodied Richard.
