Testing Liam.

Due to the fact that Liam's back was facing Alexander, he failed to notice the small movement of the man's right hand the the narrowed look Alexander directed at him.

And just when Liam reached the door and was ready to turn the doorknob, something unexpected happened. The ground beneath him opened up in a fast way and before Liam could understand what was happening, he fell right into the hole beneath him.

A shocked expression marred his face and Liam found himself falling into a different room. With a loud thud, he landed on his back and the impact of his back on the floor caused dust to rise from the floor, his groans were soon overshadowed by the small cough that escaped his lungs due to the dust.

He quickly stood on his feet and looked around to see where he was.

However, the place was dark and cold, like nobody had been there for ages. He looked up at the place he fell from but was met with darkness.

Liam was confused as to why this happened, was this Alexander's doing? If so then why because it clearly looked like they were on the same page in terms of his agreement.

Heavy breathing came out of his nostrils, feeling the quiet place as he tried to think of a way to leave this place. But his mind was blank, he couldn't think of anything at the moment.

Soon, the sound of footsteps reached Liam's ears. He noted it wasn't a footstep of one person but that of many people and it seemed like they were coming his way.

He tried to remain calm and not panic in the dark. And to his relief, the footsteps stopped but that was short-lived because a punch from nowhere landed on his jaw and sent him flying.

He gasped and grunted and quickly got on his feet, his stance in a defensive way as he looked around, hoping to find who would try to punch him next.

Footsteps again were heard and before Liam could understand where it was coming from, a kick landed on his lower abdomen. He staggered and almost lost balance and that was when Liam knew, the people in this room were trying to fight him.

And the only person on the losing end was him. But then he wondered, how could they see him and he couldn't. The only explanation for that was they were putting on a type of eyeglass that would make them see in the dark.

Did Alexander send these men to attack him? Was this the his plan? Liam wondered as his jaws ticked in utter confusion.

He clenched his hands into a fist, the only way he could fight and win them was to use all of his senses except his sight which was useless at the moment.

Liam stood straight and closed his eyes, he was trying to make sure he was calm. He took in a couple of deep breaths and when he heard the small movement coming from his left, he quickly turned and this time did not wait to be attacked and went ahead to attack first.

He somehow got hold of the person and gave him a couple of punches before sending him flying with a hard kick and soon Liam was engaged in a fight with unknown men in a dark dusty room.

Liam fought to the point where he was losing because he could no longer concentrate, the attack from different angles coupled with the lack of his sight made it difficult for him to concentrate.

However, the only way to bounce back is to get himself one of those glasses they were wearing on their eyes that made it easy for them to see in the dark. And the only way to do that is to get hold of one of them.

He took in another deep breath to calm his mind and to concentrate and the moment he heard a footstep coming towards him, he quickly faced it and was quick to get hold of the person and they engaged in a tight struggle.

None of them was holding back. However, Liam was at a disadvantage yet again, while he was concentrating on the person he got hold of, some other men were currently attacking him with punches and kicks, making it difficult for him to get hold of the eyeglasses.

Nevertheless, after what seemed like an eternity of struggling, he got hold of the glasses, almost poking the man's eyes and he quickly wore them while he was being attacked from all sides.

The moment the glasses were on him, Liam felt some kind of way and he was glad it was a good feeling because he could finally see in the dark but it still wasn't really clear, it was limited but was good enough.

And with the help of the glasses, he was able to fight back. One after the other, he made sure to knock each of them down. He made sure of that whenever he got hold of any one of them.

Meanwhile, back at Alexander's office, he sat before his table with his computer screen playing a video. It was the video of Liam and his men fighting in the dark room underneath his office.

Alexander was quite impressed at how well and efficiently Liam fought. He watched as he skillfully got hold of the glasses from one of his men and wore them to gain back his eyesight.

Though the room was dark, Alexander could clearly see thanks to the advanced camera used to record the whole scene.

He watched as his men fell one after the other at Liam's mercy. He was ruthless as he fought back, not holding back at all. And the more Alexander watched, the more he saw reasons not to let Liam go.

The reason why Alexander threw Liam into that room was because he wanted to test the young man's capability if he was fit for the kind of position he wanted to give to him and he was quite impressed at Liam.

Liam was not only strong but also strategic which was a fine quality. Liam was perfect in Alexander's eyes.
