"I heard you travelled, Adam. Care to tell me why you didn't inform me before leaving?"

Adam stood before his father in their mansion. He had just gotten back after spending 3 days with Elliot and his godfather. He had been summoned into his father's study the moment he stepped into the threshold.

In the dim room, Alicia lounged on the chaise, reading a magazine, her face, and posture an outward appearance of calm. Adam knew better. She had learnt to mask her feelings early enough, unlike him, who still struggled with keeping how he felt to himself.
