Six

Aiden held money in his hand, it was exactly the same. This wasn't a scam alert, it was true.

All he just needed to do going forward was complete quest and he would get money.

He glanced at the clock on his nightstand and saw that it was already 8:32PM. He wouldn't be able to payment in the night but he still had to go sto the hospital anyways because that is where his grandfather is.

With a brighter expression than before Aiden entered the bathroom, he turned on the shower and waited for the water to reach the perfect temperature. He hummed a melodious song to himself, feeling relaxed and happy as the warm water cascaded down his body. He reached for his shampoo and squeezed a small amount into his palm, then began to lather it into his hair. The scent of the shampoo filled the air, and Aiden closed his eyes, enjoying the sensation of the suds massaging his scalp.

Next, Aiden reached for his body wash and applied it to his washcloth. He scrubbed his body from head to toe, enjoying the feeling of the warm water and soap washing away any tension from his muscles and the dirt that he had accummulated over the day.

'Come to think of it... today has been a very long day, hasn't it?'

He was right, from dumped to being beaten to death to his grandmother entering a critical state and finally the system.

Today looked like it was going to be the end of him but it was actually the day his suffering was going to end.

'If Amby hadn't left me, I bet she will be enjoying the new me...right?'

He wasn't in anyway expressing any lingering attachment, in fact he was pleased with the fact they broke up.

"Well, I think it is ordained. When one's blessing is coming the bad eggs must be separated. She's a bad egg, let's forget about her."

Aiden muttered to himself with a nod as he ended his thought of her there.  After rinsing off the soap, Aiden turned off the shower and stepped out onto the bath mat. He grabbed a clean towel and began to dry himself off, starting with his hair and working his way down to his feet.

Finally, he got dressed in his favorite outfit, a simple yet stylish ensemble that makes him feel confident and put together.

Aiden was a person that loves to keep things classic and comfortable, he would often choose  pieces that are versatile and can be worn for a variety of occasions. Despite his worn out clothes, he had an impressive fashion sense and he was sure he would dress well if he has the money to spare for more clothes.

For the top, Aiden opts for a crisp, white button-down shirt made of soft cotton. The shirt fits him perfectly, accentuating his skinny body and resembling a bagg shirt which just sits right with his face. He rolls up the sleeves to just below his elbows, giving the look a casual, relaxed feel.

On the bottom, Aiden chose a pair of dark wash jeans that fit him well and are neither too tight nor too loose. The jeans hug his hips and thighs just right, tapering down to a slim leg opening that hits just above his ankle. They are comfortable enough to wear all day, but still look polished and stylish.

He slipped on a pair of leather shoes. The shoes are polished to a shine, and have a timeless design that pairs well with his outfit.  He grabbed his wallet, putting the dollars into it and double-checking to make sure that he had everything he needed before leaving the house.

As stormed out with an unusual lively mood, almost greeting every single person he met on the road till he got a taxi and eventually went back to the hospital.

He meet his grandfather wrapped in a thick blanket on the couch of the hospital room his grandmother was admitted in.

The old man couldn't help but wake up at the slight sound the wasmade as Aiden opened the door.

"Son, you are back."

"Oh, I'm sorry, did I disturb you?"

"Don't worry about it, I was struggling to sleep anyways."

He said as he got up and covered his legs with the blanket. He looked down with a drawn up brows and his eyeballs stayed on the ground.

"I am sorry son. For causing you to carry so much burden."

He said slowly and silent but it was audible enough for Aiden who sat opposite him to hear.

"Sorry for what? You two are the only ones I have, you have cared for me ever since I was a kid. This is my responsibility and it is not a burden."

"Any parent will be blessed to have a good child like you."

He said with the invasion of a warm smile upon his face.

"Pa..."

Aiden called out with the prompting to tell his grandfather about the system and how that they won't be poor anymore. But in that split second he played the whole scenario in his head as his father replied him altering seeing that he has not spoken even after calling out.

"Is something wrong?"

"No, I just wanted to tell you..."

The man leaned forward slightly with a bright and alerted eyes waiting for what his grandson wanted to say.

"Things will be better from now on."

He said with a warm smile that wore itself cutely over his enchanting but rough face.

"I know. I trust you... but I thought you were going to tell me something like Amby is pregnant, seeing that you are dressed so nicely."

"Eh? Where did that even come from?"

Aiden chuckled, shocked by his grandfather's line of thought.

"How is she..."

He asked softly putting a serene silence to the atmosphere between them.

"She's fine I guess..."

"You guess...? Something happened?"

"We just decided to give each other some space with all the things happening."

Aiden smiled. These was enough, saying too much might ruin the mood, he also had to consider that his grandfather was used to blaming himself for every bad thing that happens in his life.

Both of them chatted and joked around about the sick grandmother on the bed, expressing how much they miss before Aiden slowly fell asleep.

His grandfather covered him with the blanket as he sank into his seat, diving into the cumbersome rest and comfort he was offered by this uncomfortable yet fulfilling sleep.
