Minutes after all that took place on the third floor with Malkome and Mirajh busy with what they currently were and the Uprisers meeting with them to inform them about the new development on Adam's escape, over at the back of the building which had been completely cleared because all the Uprisers who were stationed around the perimeter were either at other buildings holding them down or were inside this building waiting and searching for Adam, the cover of a hatch was slowly pushed off its frame.

Since this was a route which the kids in the building had been occasionally using to sneak outside, the hatch cover didn't require much effort to take out. Also, originally the kids would use some sort of a manual box lift with a rope to either pull themselves up or down the body of the hatch, however, being able to go down on his own Adam just dropped under gravity the entire length of the hatch.
