Violet stood with her legs on the verge of collapse, trembling with fear.

She was about to deliver the change after the buyer had made a transaction for food from her farm that afternoon. Since she knew the buyer very well and had been going back and forth from her house to the buyer's location many times, Violet didn't think she needed a ride or someone to accompany her.

But it was only when she was about to leave that she regretted turning down all the offers from people at the ranch to accompany her.

On her way home, Violet was followed by four men whom she had seen since she was at her customer's place. Actually, one of the four men had offered to take Violet home with them, since she had been having trouble with her bicycle chain. But Violet refused; they were too suspicious for her to trust.
