Four days had passed since Victor's return to New Orleans, but Violet hadn't seen a peep out of him. Violet hadn't called him, because the last time Victor had called while she was rushing home, he'd said that he had some business to take care of when he arrived in New Orleans. Violet didn't want to bother Victor, so she didn't call him first.

Today, as usual, Violet spent her morning after tea doing things inside the mansion. She no longer went out to meet with informants, the last time she communicated with a good informant named Maria Siesta and ended up losing contact since the last day they met.
