"Who do I have here? If it's not the failed business and married man,” Jeffery started, a smirk lingering on his face.

John's face tightened, and he looked deep into Jeffery 's betraying eyes.

“My best friend,” Jeffery said, tapping John on his shoulder.

John threw his gaze at Jeffery 's hand as though he wanted to break every finger. Jeffery was dressed in an expensive black Italian suit, exuding a sense of wealth and arrogance.

“Take your hands off me, or else in the next second, you might not have a hand anymore,” John roared, his eyes fixed on Jeffery .

“Oiii!” Jeffery chuckled sarcastically, but he still withdrew his hand from John's shoulder. “The pride is still there, a typical example of being broke but proud,” Jeffery added with a dirty, contemptuous look.

John turned to leave, but Jeffery quickly held him back. “Not so soon, best friend,” Jeffery said.

“I am not your best friend,” John said coldly, his expression a mixture of anger and disgust.
