Drawing Distance

Elijah remained silent even when they got back to their boss's office. Dwine was talking to his secretary while Elijah sat down at her desk and started working. When Joanna got out and it was just the two of them were left inside, she still didn't say a word. So, Dwine started to think what's going on?

"I will be leaving at noon for my lunch meeting with my Dad. And I decided to bring you with me." Dwine spoke after the deadly silent.

"If that's what you want sir, no problem. I'm your assistant, and it's my duty to do what you ordered as long as it was about work." Elijah answered without eye contact.

Dwine clenched his jaw and stood up after. He walked towards Elijah's desk and stopped in front of her. Elijah looked up and a fake smile shown on her face.

"Can I help you with something sir?" She asked. Her eyes were empty.
