"Hello?."

Dwine turned away to answer his phone, while Elijah run out of the room.

Elijah feel the mixture of shame and self-loathing inside her chest and decided to go out of the building for now. Joanna saw her but because she is running, she didn't give her a time to call her name.

"Da*n it! why did I do that?! Why did I let that happen?! It's only in day one, but there's a lot that happened! Arghhh!" She pulled her hair because of shame and anger while she's inside of the elevator.

"What should I do now?!"

She's was still thinking when the elevator stopped moving. The door opened and two staffs entered.

"She's the assistant, right?"

She heard them talking about her but she didn't give a damn because her head is aching right now due to what happened.

"Hi, are you the new assistant of the President Frost, right?" The girl couldn't help but asked her.

"Why?" The tone of Elijah's voice become cold and sounds like she's angry so the two suddenly feel the hesitation to continue.

"That.. we just wanted to ask of he will be joining the party tonight."

"En. He will." She nodded.

"Ahm.. "

"If your next question is not about the work, then keep it to yourself. I hate gossip. Especially those who spread gossip."

Ahh.. Now, she threw her frustration to this two poor souls. The elevator stopped again and the two went out running.

"Thanks bye." They said without looking at her.

"Hah! So I'm the bad girl now?! #$@&$#@#!" She can't help but swear.

When the elevator reached the ground floor, she immediately went out and go to the nearest store in front of the building. She bought some cold juice and drink it while killing her time inside the store. She need to cool down and think of what she might do in the future.

She promised to help Sarah to seduce her man of her dreams yet she kissed him.

"I have to draw a distance between us. He doesn't need to know that we already have sex once. Because if he does, for sure he will think of me as a whore who went to the mountain to find someone to have sex with." She murmured.

"But we kissed! Does he started to think that I'm a lowly woman? Huh! Fu*k! Elijah Suarez, what kind of trouble did you do this time?!"

She didn't take long and finally go back to the building. She even saw Joanna waving at her telling to wait for her go up together so she nodded.

"Where did you go?" She asked first.

"I sent the papers to the department of finance, The boss asked me. How 'bout you? Where have you been?"

"Oh! I just bought some cold juice to cool down."

"Yeah? Sir Dwine asked me if where did you go, so I told him I don't know."

"En.. I see. Did you clean the table inside?"

"Well, yeah. He asked me to clean it too."

Elijah just nodded her head and didn't ask again.

"Will you attend the company party later?"

"Probably not. I have to go home early." If she can actually go home now, she will be on the road at this moment. "And you?"

"I will of course. How sad, I cant hang out with you." Joanna look sad but she can't do anything about it.

"Maybe next time, if there another time." She said.

"Yup! You're right. Anyway, can I get your number? You seem nice so I wanna be your friend."

"Sure why not." She smiled and give her, her number.

When the elevator door opened, they went out together and sperated just when they reached Joanna's table.

"Aren't you going in?" Joanna noticed her hesitation.

"I am, I'm just thinking if I didn't forget something. Haha." She lied.

Of course she doesn't want to enter! But she has no choice so she opened the door and enter. She saw the man sitting in his chair and the table in front of him. He's busy with his paper works and didn't even raised his head to look at her.

"Is he trying to act like nothing happened? Well that's great." Elijah thought, it's better for her side too. "Let's pretend that nothing happened." She think again and started to walk towards her table and do her work. The two didn't speak with each other until the time for another meeting. Elijah get the new suit of her boss and help him change without looking at each other. And they leave the room with cold air surrounding them.

"Check the room before leaving later." Dwine spoke to his secretary.

"Yes sir."

Joanna wave at her and Elijah waved back too. When the two entered the elevator, no one cares to talk again. They are at the parking lot when the car that is going to u-turn almost hit Elijah. It is good that Dwine noticed the car in advance and immediately pulled Elijah to his embrace.

"F*ck! Catch that bastard!" Dwine shouted to his bodyguard and they rushed in to their cars and follow the one who were driving the car that almost hit her.

"Are you okay?" His eyes is full of worries when he looked at her.

Elijah nodded even though she's trembling. Dwine feel her trembles and swear again before embracing her.

Why? Why does he feel so nervous and scared at the same time. He feel nervous that this girl might be in danger. And scared to lost her again.. Wait, again? Why does he used the word again?

Elijah at the same time also feel the same way, she was also scared to seperated with this guy. Why is that? Why does she think that it's better to be hit by that car than to see this guy be hit with that car? Why does she hate to imagine of losing him again? Wait, again? Why that word came out?
