Chapter 43 - An Unexpected But Unwanted Encounter

In the next fifteen minutes, they found themselves in a supermarket not far from Mia's apartment.

Mia grabbed a shopping cart and pulled Henry toward the grocery section.

The girl's first destination was the cereal aisle.

As she picked out different kinds of cereal from the shelves, Mia glanced to her right and left from time to time, as if to make sure no one was watching.

"Are you okay?" Henry asked.

"Yes, I'm fine, of course!"

She then walked over to the refrigerator, which contained several kinds of meat.

She chose several kinds and took some pieces of beef and chicken out of the glass case and placed them in the cart.

Once again, she went through the same routine of looking around to make sure the surroundings were safe.

Since leaving the house, the girl had suddenly become quiet, and Henry, curious about her constant scanning, teased her.

"Don't tell me you don't have any money on you! Honestly, if someone sees what you're doing, they'll think you're about to commit theft."
