The discontent was so visible that it got to Stephen Carrick's attention.

He was surprised that his loyal supporters were starting to feel different about him and he wondered why.

There were his source of strength and if it seems they are being discontent with him, then he had to find out what caused it and do something about it as soon as possible.

“Have you seen how they were looking at me? Carrick said sharply as he snapped at his aide one hot afternoon. His irritation was clearly visible on his face. His expression could not hide it. “They are beginning to question my authority! This is very unacceptable.”

His aide was nervous as he sat down in his seat, looking at his boss. He was confused on what to say to his boss. “Probably it is just a misunderstanding sir.
