9: First day at the academy (1)

Alice sat in her office, the bright sunlight filtering in through the windows casting a warm glow over the room. She was waiting for a call from her guild members, hoping for any news about their ongoing investigation into the incident that happened at the lab, because she had important matters to attend to she left the investigation to them. Suddenly, her phone rang, and she quickly answered it, her heart racing with anticipation.

"David, any news?" Alice asked eagerly.

"Sorry Alice, we still can't get any more information," David replied apologetically.

Alice sighed in frustration, using her hand to shatter the table in her office while her other hand held the phone to her ear. "God damn it, it's been 5 days and we still found nothing," she exclaimed.

David asked, "Should we still continue?"

"No, you guys should return," Alice replied, putting her hand on her face as she ended the call. She began to think to herself, "So far, all we have been able to uncover is that Allen is not just any random boy. His bodily fluids were used to make Al-y23, but that was a substance that was created 70 years ago. Shouldn't he be a man by now?"

Alice continued to ponder the situation, "When I asked Mr. Johnson for access to the database on records of people who were born 70 years ago, he said that I was not yet qualified to gain access. I, who have put my life on the line multiple times during monster invasions, and a SS rank hunter, am not qualified?"

She let out a sigh, folding her hands, "Just if, if truly his bodily fluids were used to make Al-y23, he must have gone through countless experiments before they could harness his power. But despite his contribution to humanity's survival and evolution, he was simply forgotten, not mentioned anywhere. If he was truly the source of Al-y23, isn't he supposed to be like a god-level existence? How the hell was he captured and experimented on?"

Alice sighed again, "But one thing I know for sure is that my father was the head researcher at that lab. There is no way he had a hand in human experiments. He was a very loving father, and very nice to kids, so there was no way he did something so inhumane. Or did it happen under his nose? Let me just forget about it. It's best to not make wild assumptions without proof."

Alice's thoughts were interrupted As Yanzi walked into the room, Alice quickly composed herself, putting on a professional demeanor. "Yanzi, what brings you here?" she asked.

Yanzi was a woman she had a striking figure with her unique appearance. Her hair was a bright shade of pink that seemed to glow in the light. It was long and fell in soft waves down her back, On her neck, Yanzi had intricate tattoos that seemed to blend in with her skin. They were delicate and intricate, with swirling patterns, Her pink eyes were large and almond-shaped, giving her an otherworldly appearance. They were framed by thick black lashes that made them stand out even more.

"I just wanted to check in with you and see how the investigation is going," Yanzi replied.

Alice sighed. "It's not going well. We still don't have any leads on the lab or what they were doing there. It's frustrating, to say the least."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Yanzi said sympathetically. "But on a different note, have you considered teaching?"

Alice raised an eyebrow. "Teaching? Why would I do that?"

"Well, I'm going to the academy today. I'm in charge of the new batch of students who will be arriving in the A class. I thought you might want to come and see what it's like. Maybe even try teaching a class. It can be fun, you know."

Alice shook her head. "I have better things to do than teach a bunch of kids."

Yanzi frowned. "Alice, you're not just an SS-ranked hunter. Your father founded Evalandor Academy. Teaching runs in your blood. Besides, it might be a nice change of pace for you."

Alice sighed. "Fine. I'll think about it."

Yanzi smiled. "Great! I have to head to the academy now, but I'll let you know how it goes."

Alice watched as Yanzi left the room, feeling conflicted. On the one hand, she didn't want to waste her time teaching kids. On the other hand, she couldn't deny that teaching was in her blood, and it might be a nice change of pace. She sighed, knowing that she would have to make a decision soon.

meanwhile at the hotel Allen woke up, feeling excited and nervous at the same time. He had been looking forward to this day, ever since he received his acceptance letter from the academy. He jumped out of bed and quickly got dressed in his new school uniform, which he had received in the mail a few days earlier. It was a dark blue T-shirt and long sleeved jacket with with a silver badge on the breast pocket, the T-shirt had a white sword logo facing downward on it, along with it a white trousers, belt and sneakers.

After a quick breakfast, Allen made sure his hair colour was reddish brown because that was his identity as Nathan, Allen headed out of his hotel and hailed a taxi to take him to the academy. As the taxi pulled up to the entrance, Allen was struck by the grandeur of the building. It was an enormous white marble structure with columns and arches, and it looked like it belonged in a fairy tale.

(A/N: from this point on I'll refer to Allen an Nathan )

As Nathan walked towards the entrance, he noticed a group of students gathered around a boy who was being bullied. Allen didn't hesitate to step in and defend the boy. "Hey, leave him alone!" he yelled, stepping between the bullies and the boy.

The bullies were taken aback by Nathan's sudden intervention, and they quickly backed off. The boy looked up at Allen with gratitude in his eyes.

"Thank you," he said.

Nathan smiled at him. "No problem. Are you okay?"

The boy nodded, and they walked towards the entrance of the academy together. Nathan felt good about himself for standing up to the bullies and helping someone in need.

As they entered the auditorium, Nathan and the boy found their seats and waited for the ceremony to begin. The auditorium was filled with students, parents, and faculty members. It was a grand ceremony, with speeches from the headmaster and several students, including the best student in the S class, it was Amy Langs who was from one of the five superpower families. Everyone was waiting eagerly for the speech from the best student in the school, a member of one of the five superpower families, who would set the tone for the rest of the year.

Finally, a tall and confident teenage girl stepped up to the podium. she had striking features, piercing blue eyes, and her hair was styled in a slick back. she wore the school uniform of the S class, but hers was adorned with a gold crest that indicated her family's status as one of the superpower families.

She cleared his throat and began to speak. "Welcome, new students, to Evalandor Academy. You have all been chosen for your exceptional abilities and potential, and we have no doubt that you will make the most of this opportunity."

she paused, looking out at the crowd. "But remember, with great power comes great responsibility. You have been gifted with abilities that most people could only dream of, but it is up to you to use them wisely."

The best student's voice grew more passionate as she continued. "Evalandor Academy is not just a school, it is a training ground for the next generation of heroes. As students here, you are expected to uphold the highest standards of morality and ethics, to use your powers for the greater good, and to protect those who cannot protect themselves."

She paused for a moment to let her words sink in. "But this is not an easy path. You will face challenges, both inside and outside of the academy. You will be pushed to your limits, physically, mentally, and emotionally. But it is through these challenges that you will grow and become stronger."

The best student's voice grew more forceful. "You will learn to master your abilities, to work as a team, to think creatively, and to never give up in the face of adversity. These are the qualities that make a true hero, and these are the qualities that we will foster and develop in you."

She paused once again, and a small smile played across her lips. "But don't worry, it won't be all hard work and no play. You will make friends, have fun, and create memories that will last a lifetime. You will also have access to some of the best facilities and resources in the world, to help you hone your skills and achieve your goals."

The best student's final words were filled with conviction. "So I implore you, new students of Evalandor Academy, embrace this opportunity with everything you have. Rise to the challenge, push yourself to be the best you can be, and become the heroes that the world needs."

The auditorium erupted into applause as the best student stepped away from the podium, her speech having left a powerful impact on the audience.

As the speeches concluded, the students began to exit the auditorium, chattering with excitement about their new classmates and the upcoming semester. Nathan and the boy he had saved from the bullies walked together, the boy eagerly introducing himself as Mike and showing off his powers of flame control.

"I can manipulate fire and make it do whatever I want," Mike said with a grin, summoning a small flame in his hand and tossing it up and down.

Nathan raised an eyebrow in surprise. "That's quite impressive. My powers are a bit different - I can control and move objects with my mind, and increase my physical strength."

Mike's eyes widened in excitement. "Wow, that sounds amazing! that's telekinesis and physical enhancement right? Can you show me?"

Nathan hesitated for a moment before nodding, he then put his hand over the Boy's head, and then his hair started glowing then rising upward.

Mike was practically bouncing with excitement. "That's so cool!"

The two continued chatting as they made their way to their first class of the day, eager to see what the semester had in store for them.
