Chapter 124

They waited in the room.

"What if they come in through the ceiling?"

"That's ridiculous." He said. "We're safe as it is. No one is coming."

"How long do we have?"

"Six hours."

Gwen was sad. What if they were left to starve so much that they had no strength left to fight? The Lectyrs could be waiting for them to give in. She was on the brink of giving up, this was the best she could do, cause a delay.

Lance was in a bad shape. She didn't know what to do except sooth his hair, the toxin was spreading.

Raymond needed to be there for him but someone had to watch Stane.

His heart rate peaked, he was trembling but keeping his breath stable, his stomach was in knots. It was pointless and hopeless. Gwen was there, he didn't need to take initiative.

"Can we switch places?" Gwen asked.

He snorted. "You clearly aren't strong enough to handle a full-grown Lectyr."

She winced, it stung but he was correct but she saw that he was torn.

Stane rasped in his chokehold and Gwen tramped over to slug
