Zack paled when he realized he could have been chopped in half with a shotgun if he made any attempts to escape. They went further down the lane and he drifted to a narrow road scraping against the alley.

"This ride is way too slow."

"Merciful heavens. I've been using this baby since I was in college."

They disengaged and they ducked at the shots running towards a bystander who was drinking a glass of soda.

"Hey!" She said. "You can't just."

"I'm a detective." She glanced at Zack as if to look for some amount of support. She let him take her car and her dog barked.

"We're just having another bad day, mittens."

Conrad cursed, he put his car insurance at the back of his mind. He was laser focused on the road. The vans sped after them and he took the shortest routes he could remember.
