CHAPTER SEVEN

‘You won’t dare insult my husband in my presence ever again, wretched fool!’

Ashley repeated the lady’s statement, and at the same time put her hands on her red hot cheek.

'Did this bitch just slap me?!'

Yes, she just got slapped but she couldn't dare to do anything about it.

"Don't you ever in your life utter such words about my husband." Kayla made it clear to her.

“Seriously?! You think because you have thugs in suits with you. I can't do a thing, I can damage this guy's life in a minute, I will destroy your marriage!" She screamed.

"Oh, you can't do anything." A wry smile formed on Kayla's face, she was like a cunning face, with the mole that sat below the corner of her lips. "...I have secrets, videos of how you slept with those ugly men for money. I wonder what will happen to you the moment that gets out. Or is it the moment when you would arrange a theft on him just to get his little salary? I have evidence of all that.”

At this moment, Ashley began to hesitate to talk.

"Leave Rey alone. Disappear from his life. As you can see, I am bastardly rich, I don't care if he is poor, he is the man I want and if you dare come to him again. I have enough money and means to make your life the most miserable one on this planet."

Her words shook Ashley's countenance. Her legs shook as fatigue overwhelmed her upon the realization that she lost. She was embarrassed and ashamed.

Not being able to raise her head, she gritted her teeth.

"I will surely get back at you for this. I promise you."

With a grin, Kayla replied her. “Oh, I will be waiting for you."

Ashley glared at Kayla one last time and stormed out of the place.

Kayla sighed and handed the golf stick in her hand to Lei.

"Thank God you didn't have to clobber her with the golf stick," Lei said with relief.

She looked at the unconscious man on the floor.

"What do we do about this one?"

"We are at a hospital Lei. Let them save him if they can and if they can't, well, compensate his family handsomely. He died while working and the company will take care of his family for the rest of their lives." She said with a cold voice and then walked to Rey who was slowly getting up.

He was in much pain but didn't want to be seen as a weak dude. This was the second time... the second time Kayla was seeing her in a position like this.

She bent down and helped him up.

"I'm sorry you have to keep seeing me in a condition like this."

"There is nothing to apologize for. You've seen me at my worst and were very good to me. You are one of the reasons why I grew to be very confident even though I was a fat little girl."

"Ah..." Rey didn't know what to say. He was filled with gratitude... back then he was just being himself so he didn't see anything extraordinary about being nice to a fine girl whom he adored her handwriting.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Go get dressed. We have a wedding in a few minutes." She smiled.

One of the suited men rushed to Rey with a black bag containing his suit. He went into the hospital with haste to change.

He made his way to one of the bathrooms and after a few minutes, he came out, looking very different. He looked very dashing and it was a wonder—until a few minutes ago Reynold just looked like a regular commoner despite having a menacingly handsome face. It was a true wonder how he had quickly transformed into an epitome of elegance and sophistication.

The suit impeccably fitted to his frame and exuded a timeless style and class. It was crafted from the finest black wool, its sheen catching the light just right, giving it a subtle hint of luxury.

The suit jacket featured a slim, modern cut with peaked lapels that added a touch of flair. The matching vest hugged his torso, creating a polished silhouette, and a crisp white dress shirt underneath completed the ensemble. The shirt's high-quality fabric was immaculately pressed, and its collar was adorned with a perfectly tied black silk bowtie, adding an air of formality and refinement.

His suit trousers were tailored to perfection, with a clean, straight leg that tapered elegantly towards his black leather dress shoes.

His shoes were polished to a mirror-like shine, and their simple, classic design complemented the overall look.

Reynold looked into the mirror, admiring the astonishing change that had come to him in an instant. He smiled at himself, he wasn't that timid young man anymore, now he exuded an aura of confidence and charm.

He stepped out of the toilet and the first person he met was his sister.

She was shocked.

"Brother?" She sized her brother up and down before saying. “What are you doing? Why are you dressed in such an expensive suit."

"Ah...I promise to explain this later, I promise ehn!" He said and hurriedly ran away.

She watched his back as he faded into the distance.

"What is going on?" She asked herself. But a smile formed on her face a few seconds later. "He looked really happy"

Reynold met with Kayla. She smiled as she saw Reynold run towards her. He finally got in front of her and stood confidently.

"How do I look?"

"Well, it has always been a number one rule for my husband to be as handsome as the devil himself"

Reynold had not gotten to that level of handsomeness, compared to the handsomeness of a devil, he looked more like a handsome troublemaker. But Kayla was sure that with a little touch here and there, in due time Reynold would strike anyone as a handsome devil. He had that much prospect.

She offered her hand to him.

"Well, let's go get married.”

Reynold smiled and accepted her hands with a bow. By this time, darkness had shrouded the sky but the whole place was illuminated by the bright lights of the hospital. A little crowd of people gathered here and them and watched them.

Reynold accepted her hand and together they entered the white Rolls-Royce and drove off to where they were to get married.
