Amanda the maid whom Akiza slept with and became sick had hid in one of the rooms where the maids were allowed to stay and while she sat there she kept shivering for she could not understand what happened; why Akiza was dying, and she hid there for two days without food or water. When she finally stepped out she didn't need anyone to tell her that the Queen had taken her son away on her dragon and nobody knew where she was taking him to but none questioned her, not even the physicians who were attending to her son.

When Akiza's mother reached the gods cave in Dodo she dismounted her dragon and helped her son down from him. She then looked directly towards the cave and paused for a second.
