Fox Marbles

Raizel fell to the ground with his hands feeling like they had been pierced by hot nails. The black wolf groaned without releasing its bite. So Raizel surrendered when as far as the eye could see there were only wolves swarming him.

Raizel's vision began to blur, he could feel almost his entire body being bitten by the pack of wolves. Raizel smiled sadly while enduring the pain, he muttered, "Hah, I can finally die."

It was as if the sky answered Raizel's prayer, before he closed his eyes. Raizel could hear a very loud lightning strike right above his head.

"Death to all you ugly animals!" a loud curse was heard angrily from a woman.

The pack of wolves that could not dodge fell to the ground with burnt bodies. There was not a single wolf left. The mysterious woman was relieved, she fell to her knees with her body covered in blood.

"Aisshh, you bastard! My energy is completely depleted after releasing the lightning earlier," The woman grumbled as she pummeled the rainwater-streaked ground. She didn't stop grumbling, "Damn Sigo An, he's getting stronger. Strange demon, people don't want to join but are forced to! It's all because of that bastard!"

"I suck so bad, I can't even fight a lowly wolf. What a disgrace!" grumbled the mysterious woman who couldn't stop her emotions when she remembered Sigo An's face.

The mysterious woman shook her head to get rid of the hurt and revenge against the lion demon that was her archenemy. She looked towards Raizel quickly, "Ohh, no! How's that poor guy doing?"

The mysterious woman stood up, then hobbled over to Raizel. She looked away when she saw Raizel's horrible condition. His fingers, earlobes, and some of the flesh on his stomach were torn away. Blood flowed freely like the heavy rain of the night.

"Could he be...," murmured the mysterious woman in shock as she could still hear Raizel's very slow breathing. She crouched down while placing her fingers on Raizel's neck. She could feel a very weak pulse. It made her sure that Raizel was still alive.

"There's no other choice, I'm going to slow down by 10 seconds. Hopefully I still have some energy left," The mysterious woman said steadily, patting her chest to brace herself. She sat cross-legged next to Raizel's head, placing both hands on her legs as she concentrated on doing something.

A golden-red light came out of the mysterious woman's mouth, she opened her eyes and felt no glare at all. She was holding a small ball the size of a marble floating in front of her mouth.

"I'll lend you these fox marbles," said the mysterious woman sincerely. She did so in return for Raizel's efforts to save her.

The mysterious woman opened Raizel's mouth, then she placed the fox marbles into it. The red-colored fox marbles light passed through Raizel's throat downward and stopped right at the heart. Instantly the red light enveloped his entire body.

An unexpected miraculous thing happened, Raizel's wounds closed and the lost tissue began to body into new organs. Raizel slowly opened his eyes, he could feel the soft air, smelling the fragrance of spring blooming flowers. A white light enveloped the air blocking out his unclear vision of where he was. Raizel smiled, "I must be in heaven."

A rather hard slap hit Raizel's left cheek. He was so shocked that he held his cheek, then he turned to the side to find out who the culprit was.

"Ohh, geez! Who are you?" cried Raizel widening his eyes at the sight of a woman standing with his waist ruffled beside him. He was even more shocked to discover that the woman had multiple tails.

"I won't let you die, you fool!" the mysterious woman exclaimed in annoyance. She turned her face away from Raizel's confused face.

"Wh-who are you? Why did you slap me?" asked Raizel stammering. He was terrified and didn't want to imagine being tortured again after death.

The mysterious woman stared at Raizel while folding her arms. She raised her chin high haughtily while glancing at Raizel. She replied, "Hanna Boa. I am a Gumiho who rules the demon kingdom. You are on the border between the human and demon worlds. Lucky you, the fox marbles love their new container, Ugh... Ugh."

Hanna coughed while vomiting blood, even the hand that was blocking her mouth was unable to hide the fresh blood that gushed out. She could not finish her sentence, the strength would be reduced as the fox marbles came out of her body and not to mention the wounds she got from the previous battle that aggravated her situation.

"Are you okay?" asked Raizel frowning. He did not understand Hanna's explanation putting aside his confusion. Raizel began to worry and care when he realized that Hanna was seriously injured. Raizel wanted to help ease her pain.

"Damn it! I have to go back and see the royal magic healer," muttered Hanna who ignored Raizel's question. She closed her eyes while casting a spell.

Hanna bent down with her left hand covering her mouth, while her right hand pulled out the hair accessory she was wearing. Then, she threw it at Raizel.

"Wow, wait! What are you doing?" asked Raizel raising both eyebrows, he could see Hanna throw a shiny object flying, slamming into his chest. Before it fell, he managed to catch it.

The white light that enveloped the air around Raizel faded. He briefly shifted his gaze to the object in hand. Raizel was surprised enough to raise the hair accessory high while exclaiming, "Dwikkoji? Are you a queen?”

However, Raizel's surprise increased when Hanna disappeared from his sight. Slowly, he could smell the decaying garbage, hear the noise of passing vehicles. Raizel guessed that he had returned to the real world.

Raizel twisted his body to search for Hanna's whereabouts and instantly the white light disappeared completely. He felt both amazed and confused. Raizel shouted out to her, "Hanna! Where are you? What is the meaning of all this!"

No answer could satisfy Raizel's curiosity. He could only desperately clutched Hanna's Dwikkoji tightly.

"Gumiho? I can't believe this, a thousand-year-old mythical creature coming to see me? Wait!" screeched Raizel who did not move from where he stood. He was deep in thought. Raizel raised his hand, examined every inch of the body and found not a single scar left.

"Ohh, my goodness! All my wounds are healed. Is this for real!" squealed Raizel. He could not yet believe what had happened to him. Nevertheless, he could feel the incredible energy coursing through his veins.

Someone came from the end of the alley clapping their hands accompanied by thunderous laughter. He walked up to Raizel saying, "Wah... wah! Who is this? A student, huh?"

"That's right, he's a student, Chief. He must be from a rich family!" the long-haired man exclaimed. He picked up the student ID card that had fallen on the ground. Then he showed it to the chief thug.

"What are you going to do?" asked Raizel frantically. He was terrified as thugs with scary faces surrounded him. He hadn't forgotten the pain of being punched, kicked, and even ripped apart by the wolf pack. As Raizel began to feel scared, he looked around his for a chance to escape.

"Chief, he's holding something shiny!" exclaimed the bald thug who was already beside Raizel crouching down and confirming the precious object once more.

"Ha ha, good! Take that thing away from him!" ordered the thug chief happily.

"No, I'm not giving this thing to you!" exclaimed Raizel. He pocketed Dwikkoji into his pants pocket.

The head thug didn't stop laughing, he tilted his head as he gave the code to his men to attack Raizel. It didn't take long, 3 thugs had managed to grab Raizel and take Dwikkoji from his pocket. The long-haired man ran up to the thug leader to hand over the Dwikkoji.

"Wow, look at this! It's made of gold! Ha ha," laughed the thug chief in satisfaction. He eyed the Dwikkoji with enthusiasm.

"Please don't take that thing. I'll exchange it for all my money, but give it back!" Raizel who was screaming while pleading. He was negotiating with the thugs. Did his plea have any effect on the thugs?
