Chapter 8

Raising funds for the skill books needs huge money. And so, Arthas scoured the forest for herb gathering. The place was humid and was at the right temperature to grow herbs. The place was a natural habitat of such plants.

He scanned the surroundings and went to find clues for such plants. After several minutes, Artaz then found Blood herbs on a rotting tree and then observed. It glowed in pulsating red as he watched it. He immediately plucked it carefully and put it inside his backpack. It was a couple of herbs that were harvested. It will be enough to have 3 potions with what he has.

He immediately went to find more herbs to be brewed. Luckily, he found magic herbs in a damp place in the forest. Having plucked several of them, it glowed in bluish radiance. He put it inside his bag and then went on with his hunt for herbs.

After scouring the forest, he went on towards the riverside. Then, after several minutes, he saw several Energy herbs that glowed in a greenish hue; waiting to be harvested.

He plucked them and then put them inside his bag then went on. After having harvested the herbs, he pulled the strap of his backpack and went to find the next herbs on the list.

He then went to find Cultivation herbs inside the forest. After minutes of scouring, he found several of them on the side of the brook. Arthas was surprised after seeing one. He thought that he would find it harder this time around. He went forth and bent his knees then carefully plucked the herbs. With it put inside his backpack, he was deeply happy with his reaping.

As he started to walk away, he saw a plant that he deeply knew of. It was just on the side of the tree. He saw its trunk was something like a humanoid creature with its leaves on its hands.

"Venerable ginseng herb!"

He immediately plucked it carefully and put it inside his bag. One ginseng will give you a great boost on your physique stats cultivation and helps breakthrough. With it, he will have a greater chance of getting more stats than before.

He went home in the afternoon and then brewed the herbs on his alchemy table. With the use of mortar and pestle, he grounded the contents and mixed them with the energized water.

He created 3 health potions, 2 mana potions, and 3 stamina potions. He also made 20 cultivation pills and the ginseng was grounded and mixed with energized water. It was then heated on the vial and let the water evaporate. Making it sticky until cooled down.

He made it into small balls and then they became pills. He made 3 pills out of it and then put it aside. He rested a bit then went to the market to sell it.

3 health potion was 15 gold coins. 2 mana potion was 14 gold coins then 3 stamina potion was 9 gold coins. With a total of 38 gold coins and with 30 gold coins on hand, it became a total of 68 gold coins.

He then went home and started his cultivation. He ate a cultivation pill and also a venerable ginseng pill then went to a lotus position. He then felt like his cultivation became more rapid. He was at the bottleneck of the first stage and so he focused on his breakthrough.

While cultivating, he observed that his earth realm was nourished and also, his physique stats using the Versatile all-rounder cultivation technique.

That cultivation method was discovered in the tombs of deceased Guardian that he looted in his past life. It was also a cultivation method that was hidden in the passing of time.

It was slow but with the help of the Venerable ginseng pills that he took, he was steadily gaining random stats.

With him focusing, he made a breakthrough in his cultivation potential. Making it to the Earth realm-second stage.

Also, he will gain a random stat until the pill expires. One stat will be given for each breakthrough on each pill. He took 3 of them into his mouth and then cultivated his physique.

+1 Strength

+1 Strength

+1 Dexterity

It was then, that the pills expired. He got 3 stats from 3 pills in total. One ginseng plant gives 3 pills which give stats. It was a good reap in total.

With it, his stats changed.

It was then, that he took another pill for cultivation and cultivated again for the night. He was steadily cultivating for several hours and he reached the bottleneck of his second stage. It was then he heard the crows of the roosters and was alarmed.

"It was morning already?" he asked himself.

He then hastily washed in his bathroom and dressed in his uniform. He then went towards the school nearby.

He went to school and took breakfast in the canteen. It was then, that he saw the elites gathering beside him at the same table.

"I am so sorry for our troubles. We only want to maintain the respect of the other students. You are beaten instead," said Roan while bowing.

"Nah, it's fine. I still need to beat you all with my job class yes? No need to be too friendly," Artaz chuckled at them.

"Ah I see, so how did you acquire this bloodlust aura?" Merlin was curious, to the point of asking himself.

It was at that moment, Arthas was taken aback. An excuse would do fine in his thoughts.

"By my master I guess,"

"Oh I want to meet your master," Roan smiled.

"Nah, he died. Passing his teachings on to me. It was a good thing to be his student I must say,"

"Oh, care to teach us next time?" Earl asked in hopes of learning it too.

"Maybe next time, we will have time," Thurin said.

"We should make a schedule. How about the weekends?" asked Axel, the Dragon knight elite.

"Yeah, it is fine by me," said Fang, the Lycanthrope elite.

"Let us all train to be the best," said Neon, the Holy Knight Priest elite.

"We are the best in terms of our peers but we still lacked greatly compared to the guardians," said Druin, the Druid shaman elite.

"Don't compare yourself to Guardians. They have the age and experience advantage. compared to us who are still twerps when they became guardians," Merlin said, the Versatile Mage elite.

"Being strong is not always the answer. We have to be cunning too," said Marvin, the Rogue assassin elite.

"Haha, there are no tactics when they collide against absolute power!" Joan said, the Forest Ranger elite.

"I must say, we will become strong soon. There is a premonition of mine that the peace will end and demons will attack again. So I needed all of you to train for that. The second great calamity will come and we have to be prepared," Arthas said to them.

"Where did you learn this?" asked Merlin.

"From my master," Arthas said in a serious tone.

"Oh, your master. Makes sense," Merlin replied then scratched his chin.

He kept them company while waiting for the bell. It was then they talked a bit until the time for the first subject arrived.

"I must go," Arthas then stood up.

"Bye," they chorused.

In the morning, he studied in school and when the night came, he was a blacksmith and an enchanter.

He reaped 8 gold coins for helping the blacksmith and 20 gold coins for enchanting. With a total of 96 gold coins on his current money.

He was then ready for purchasing the skill books needed for all his job classes. Though it was not enough for all of it as the skill books were tantamount in numbers. Only a few were purchasable with just his money. And so he went ready to go to the Job Class Halls to purchase the job class skill books.
