After the Hernandezes left, Grace approached Sylvia.

Meanwhile, the medicine had finished brewing. Eric took it off the heat and allowed it to cool for a bit before handing it to Sylvia.

Grace smiled and said, "I'm so glad you both take care of each other."

Sylvia pinched her nose and downed the medicine in one gulp. "Mom, why did the Hernandezes come here?"

"They're here for a truce," Grace explained. "Both families suffered losses since the war began. Javier knew you two were in King City, so he took this chance to propose a truce. But I won't stop the war unless they agree to my conditions."

"What are the conditions?" Sylvia asked.

"First, Eric should get a share of the Hernandez family assets under his name, as he's one of them," Grace replied. "Second, I want them to add Eric to the Hernandez family tree, but Javier refused."

Sylvia fell silent, thinking both conditions would benefit Eric.
