Chapter 97
When Eric first moved to the Rosewood Estate, he was surprised by the absence of cockroaches despite his extended stay. The kitchen had been immaculate and rarely used before he arrived.

"Just add a little of this and that, and it's done. Simple enough," Sylvia replied casually. "Get some rest. I'll call you when I'm done."

Eric left her to her work, assuming Sylvia, like most women he knew, could whip up something decent.

His assumption was quickly proven wrong when black smoke started billowing out of the kitchen. The food was not just overcooked—it was catching fire!

Sylvia rushed out of the kitchen, coughing. Fortunately, Eric swiftly intervened and extinguished the flames. As the smoke cleared, they were left with a scene resembling a culinary disaster.

After a moment of silence, Eric finally spoke up. "Maybe I should take over."

Sylvia playfully stuck her tongue out. "Come on. It was my first attempt at cooking. Cut me some slack, don't you think?"
