Well. It was too late now!

Zoe leaned on the couch and stared off into the night. After a long time, she leaned over, looked at him, and flashed him a faint smile.

“There’s something deeply wrong with you, Mason, but it's no longer my job to stay and fix you!”

Mason’s face turned pale.

It was dark and she couldn’t see his injuries, but it didn’t matter. It wasn’t as if she cared, anyway. He had snuffed out her love for him with his own hands!

Silence draped over the ward. He was sitting on the couch and letting the doctor apply salve to him while she was leaning on the headboard quietly, a ticket in her hands.

David had given it to her that evening. It was a ticket to the first Global Classical Music Concert in Hucksburgh and she was supposed to be the opening act for the entire orchestra!
