Moving on (Part 2)

Sharley was ready to explode on these two border guards. But surprisingly, no one from her party was going to interfere.

They were all quite suspicious of these guards that they had never heard anything about.

Sharley cracked her knuckles before she smiled and said:

"Come to think of it, we have been through quite a few cities, towns, and villages through our journey, but we never heard of any tax collectors being stationed at the border? I wonder why?"

The guards were unfazed by her question as they looked as natural as possible while saying:

"We have been stationed quite a short time ago. The news about the Empire's tax collection shall spread pretty soon. Missy, if you don't have the money, you might as well scram! You are wasting our time here."

Sharley couldn't help but laugh as the guards felt their bodies grow heavier by the second.

Soon enough, they were kneeling in front of Sharley while she glared at them from above.<
