_ One against two

Fear gripped all of Danny’s vitals. Beck had turned his face to them. His eyes were bloodshot red. Even from the distance where he stood, Danny could clearly see the redness. It was a ‘not to be missed’ factor of the zombies.

Gritting hard and loudly his teeth while letting out a vibrating sound, Beck slowly took a first step then a series of others.

“Grrrr —” The continuous palpitation of his teeth together was nonstop.

As though the husky guy by the door was of no concern to him, Beck headed for the bed.

Or maybe he could sense there was more food on the bed than by the door.

“Shoot him!” Mae shrieked, panic-stricken to her very throat.

The husky guy was relentless about not shooting. “So what happens when I shoot him and more come, huh? What are you gonna do then?!” he roared.

Every one of them was on the edge. Danny immediately firmed his grip on the little girl. He was ready to dodge and dock as Beck approached.
