Ch 18: I always think ahead of others

Loren opened his eyes to the light of the sun as it made its way inside the cave he was in.

While awaking he notices Angelina sleeping against his side.

“Good more master.” Dlioar Swordcarver greets him.

Loren sees that he was about to step out of the cave to hunt for breakfast for them to eat after stepping all last night cutting flesh from undead to fully skeletons.

“Going out for a hunt my friend.”

“Yes, I thought it would be nice to hunt food for you and Angelina.”

“Then why do all of us do it together like back home?” Loren gets up, waking Angelina as well.

“So let us have a nice morning hunting.”

The three of them took their time hunting as Loren will watch Dlioar Swordcarver use his bow to hunt down any prey that comes across him.

Loren was impressed with him on how well he has come along since they were kids.

He watched him quickly shoot an arrow at a rabbit that was passing by.

Truly Loren needed someone like him to be his shadow not because Dlioar Swordcarver elf with good skills that can be useful as an assassin, but as a person, he can place his trust in.

Someone he can rely on to help home seek out his enemies and take them out without anyone knowing.

Discover secrets that can be useful to Loren and sharing the blood will stain their hands together.

“Big Brother, I have to ask can King Garland be trusted now after what he did what you ask, I mean, I feel that guy shouldn’t since you haven’t known him long enough.”

Angelina asks her question while Loren was receiving the bow from his friend Dlioar Swordcarver.

“I do not trust him, Angelina.” Loren quickly answers her while he focuses his senses by closing his eyes to feel the souls of the animals.

“Then what reason did you have for telling him about your plans?”

Loren had found prey to hunt as it was dear that was from a far distance from them.

He took a deep breath then fired the arrow which flew through the air with such ease that it was able to hit the deer right into its nick as it cried out in pain before falling onto the ground.

“We are using each other to gain what we want from one another.”

“Using each other, but the King will gain something from you yet what will big brother gain.”

“A great undead army that no other army will be able to stand against along with lands to conquer and a wife as well.”

Angelina pants when Loren mentions having a wife.

“Angelina, I know how you feel, but please be a little more understanding for me.”

Loren pats her head which turns her from mad to happy.

“Still, are you sure the king will not betray you, master?” Dlioar Swordcarver asks to get back his bow.

“I have no doubt the man will betray me; it will be a later time of day.”

“What do you mean?”

“I say it will be a day when my seed has planted itself into Hannah's womb.”

The two look at each other then back to Loren with a confused expression on his face.

“Let me explain to my friends, King Garland is not a complete fool to use as a tool, he is just bringing time and waiting to gain enough power. When ready, waiting for the news that his dear daughter is with the child, that is when the man will see me as no longer useful to him.”

“Yet how do you think he plans to? do it, big brother.” Angelina asked, but had a little concern in her tone.

“Well, I can think of two ways for King Garland to act on it, hire assassins or set up an ambush for me. I don’t think he will attack my father's kingdom while his daughter is there unless she visits back home, but I always think ahead of others all the time.”

At the time Loren looks at the duration where he hit the deer, noticing it has attracted some unfriendly creatures.

"Wolf's." Dlioar Swordcarver was the one to say as he started to pull back his bow.

"Wait!." Loren tells him as he stops at his command.

While waiting for only a moment as they see acting on high alert glowing at something coming their way.

It seems another unfriendly creature has caught the sect of the blood of the dead deer.

"Well, I am damn sure it seems that a brown bear has appeared."

Right as Loren said, the brown bear shows itself.

It was big with a body cover with a few scars as anyone could guess that the beast had its share of battles from hunters or other animals.

The brown bear has an interest in the dead deer and seems it does not want to let these wolves have it.

That didn't take long for the wolves and the brown bear to fight.

Loren was impressed with how well the beast was holding itself against a pack of wolves as it didn't take long for those creatures to retreat and abound the deer.

The victory was the brown bear and the reward was right for the taking as it digs its sharp teeth into the deer's body.

"Hey! That is our food, you have no right to eat it."

"Let it be Angelina, that beast has earned it since battling against a pack of wolves, but it won't be able to enjoy it for long."

Angelina didn't understand what Loren meant, but Dlioar Swordcarver does.

“You intend to fight it, master.”

“That is correct, I wish to take this chance to test myself against this brown bear.”

Loren began taking off his shirt to show off his nicely built upper masculine body.

He did not only focus on Necromancy but trained his body, as well as Loren, who can not only rely on only one thing.

“Big brother, I don’t think it is a good idea that a beast can hurt you badly or worse kill you.”

Loren smiles then rubs Angelina's head.

“Then that is the chance I have to take, but I tell you now, I don’t plan to die until I complete my goal.”

Loren then starts walking to the brown bear which soon the creature notices him.

The brown bear rose and stood on two legs which surprised Loren on how bad it was.

“Damn you are certainly one big fella, great you and I am sure you're going to give me hell in this fight.”

Loren took a fighting stance in front of the brown bear as it can tell that he intends to fight against it.

“So don’t hold back on me! Because this is a life and death fight between us you hear!.”

The brown bear let a powerful mighty roar in front of Loren, he felt it as it began to make his heart beat faster with fear mixed with excitement.

“Let's see who will win between the two monsters!.”
