Gerran was taken aback, unable to comprehend why Agatha was suddenly angry with him.

He believed he'd done the right thing by keeping Steve away from Agatha, so he was puzzled as to why she seemed upset with him about it.

"Agatha, what do you mean?" Gerran inquired.

"Stop pretending like you care about me, that's what I mean," Agatha replied curtly.

Frowning, Gerran shifted his gaze towards Steve this time. Steve smirked sardonically, quite pleased with Gerran's confused reaction.

"What's that smirk for, loser?" Gerran questioned, his irritation evident.

Steve chose to remain silent, opting to let Gerran interpret the meaning behind his smirk on his own.

"Are you under the impression that Agatha is on your side? Stop dreaming. Her words just now were probably a misunderstanding," Gerran asserted, still convinced that Agatha didn't mean what she said.

Agatha sighed in frustration, utterly annoyed that Gerran hadn't grasped her intent yet.
