Chapter 7

Agatha Cattegirn had just opened her eyes when the dizziness hit her head, she tried to remember what had happened to her.

"Are you feeling better?"

A familiar voice rang out, Agatha immediately turned her head to see who was speaking.

Steve Hart was sitting beside Agatha while driving the car, this made Agatha wonder even more about what had just happened to her.

"Why are you here? Not to mention... didn't I tell you before, that I can't go home yet because I must join the welcoming party?"

Steve Hart frowned, wondering if Agatha really did not remember what had happened.

"I'm sorry if I'm being presumptuous, but I had to pick you up from the party because of an urgent matter," explained Steve Hart, "You're probably still feeling fuzzy from the effects of the too much alcohol you had earlier."

Not to mention, Steve was also unsure if Agatha would still have faith in him if she was fully sober at the bar.

"Did something bad happen to make you do that?" asked Agatha Cattegirn, feeling that Steve would not have done this if it was not based on a clear reason.

Steve Hart was silent for a moment. He wondered if Agatha would still trust him like before or if it would be the opposite, where Agatha's trust in him only happened when she was drunk.

"Eric and your other friends are planning bad things by continuing to force you to drink alcohols, I'm not asking you to trust me but that's what happened."

Steve Hart had prepared himself in case Agatha got angry because he spoke badly about Agatha's friends, who would have thought the opposite would happen.

"Thank you ...."

!!

Steve Hart was stunned in disbelief when his cheek was suddenly kissed by Agatha. Steve tried to calm down his mixture of emotion, but couldn't, making it difficult for him to focus on driving the car.

"Haha, is that too sudden?" asked Agatha, as she looked at Steve with a pair of eyes that could close at any time.

Steve Hart was silent, not knowing what to say. Agatha who was usually always indifferent to him, suddenly acting like this really confused him.

"I've liked you since high school, that's also why I offered you a contract marriage, does that answer why I kissed you?"

The words that came out of Agatha's mouth, really made Steve not know how to respond.

If Agatha really liked him, why did she never tell him the truth? This was quite disturbing to Steve, because instead of offering that absurd contract marriage, perhaps it would have been more acceptable to Steve if Agatha had told him the truth from the beginning.

"Are you angry? Please don't be angry, I already feel guilty enough about how my family treated you. Please don't make me feel more guilty because of my honesty," Agatha said in a trembling voice.

Steve Hart finally melted after hearing that.

It would be a lie if Steve never had feelings for a woman as beautiful as Agatha. It's just that, what the Cattegirn family has done so far, seems to have succeeded in becoming a big wall that holds back his feelings.

Steve Hart had just wanted to tell Agatha everything that was going through his head, but before he could do that, Agatha was already back in bed as if the conversation had never happened.

"Will she not remember what ha she said after she waking up? Uhm… Nevermind ...."

Steve Hart finally decided to forget everything he had just heard, not wanting to put too much hope in the woman from the family that had always oppressed and trampled on him.

"Just like me, when she wakes up, she won't remember all this talk. Or maybe, she said so just because of she drunk," muttered Steve Hart, as he focused on driving.

It didn't take long for Steve to arrive at the Cattegirn family home. It was late at night, so Steve Hart had to be prepared to receive a scolding from his mother-in-law for not bringing Agatha home on time.

"Where have you been to bring my daughter home this late?"

Olivia Cattegirn was already at the entrance of the house when Steve Hart got out of the car, leaving Steve Hart busy stringing together the right words to give her an explanation.

After he had found the right phrase and was sure it would not make his mother-in-law even angrier, Steve Hart explained the outline of what had just happened so that he and Agatha could go home this late.

Olivia Cattegirn looked at Steve suspiciously, not fully believing what her rubbish son-in-law had just said.

"You can see Agatha's condition for yourself, Mom," said Steve Hart, as he took Olivia to where Agatha was still lying in the car seat.

Just as the car door opened, Olivia could immediately smell the strong odour of alcohol from her daughter. This made Olivia worried and wanted to take Agatha to her room immediately.

"Let me do it, Mom," said Steve Hart, intending to offer to carry Agatha to her room.

"What do you want to do, rubbish? Stay there, don't you dare take the chance to touch my daughter!" Olivia exclaimed, stopping Steve.

Rather than watch Agatha being carried by Steve, Olivia chose to call the servants. They were all instructed by her to take Agatha to her room, leaving Steve alone in the courtyard.

"Right, this is how it should be," muttered Steve Hart. Steve Hart felt that nothing would change even if Agatha unintentionally uttered her feeling, because the truth was, whether Agatha had feelings for him or not, he was still a nobody in her family.

Steve Hart finally chose to enter the house to rest in his room, he really felt tired so he wanted to rest as soon as possible.

In the morning, Steve Hart had to open his eyes reluctantly because the door to his room continued to be knocked violently as well as originally.

The sound was so loud, that Steve Hart forced himself out of bed just to open the door.

To Steve Hart's surprise, there was his wife's cousin, none other than Callista, at the door.

"Rubbish, have you really forgotten who you are to dare ignore my knock?" asked Callista Cattegirn looking annoyed.

Steve Hart frowned, he had just woken up so he didn't know how long Callista had been knocking on his door.

"Never mind, now come with me," said Callista Cattegirn as she pulled Steve's arm forcibly out of the Cattegirn family residence.

Steve Hart, who was not yet fully conscious, simply followed where Callista wanted to take him. It wasn't even six in the morning, so the atmosphere outside the house was still dark because the sun had not yet fully emerged.

In the midst of Callista's pull on his arm, Steve began to guess what Callista was trying to do this time. Until a system message suddenly appeared in front of Steve, he immediately realised that Callista had bad plans for him.

"What are you going to do?" muttered Steve Hart with a long sigh, he was really confused why Callista liked to annoy him so much.

"What makes you grunt like that, rubbish? Do you already feel great just because of what happened at the hospital?" Callista Cattegirn asked unhappily.

"What the hell happened?" Steve Hart raised his eyebrows.

Callista's face turned red with anger, she felt Steve was making fun of her by giving such a reaction.

"Soon you will be sorry, so sorry that you have to kneel at my feet to beg for forgiveness," Callista said as she continued to pull Steve away from the Cattegirn family residence.
