A Turning Point

The funeral went smoothly. Compared to most funerals where there is a lot of crying, the Rainer family's home was quieter and quieter. This did not mean that there was no sadness and loss, but rather that their gazes showed a stifling emptiness.

Diana cried all night after hearing Jeremy's confession. Ryan wasn't that bad and he loved his family very much, it's just that the way Ryan did it wasn't justifiable. Diana felt lost and regretful, though she wasn't sure what she regretted. If only her grandfather could have spoken frankly to her or the others, maybe Diana wouldn't have had time to hate Ryan.

However, all of this was Ryan's choice for the good of the Rainer family. Diana, as well as the others, could only accept this fact.

"I didn't expect you to go this far." Julie let out a long breath. She had heard a lot about what had happened. Between shock and deep sorrow.
