Bill exhaled heavily. This was far from what he had anticipated. He knew that Diana was thinking about it out of guilt and indebtedness, but it was clearly too far and risky. As Diana had shown such resentment about the arranged marriage to the point of opposing Ryan, it was clear that the woman was pushing herself too hard.

"Has she lost her mind?" muttered Bill in disbelief.

By the lake, Julie was still arguing, disagreeing with Diana's initiative, which she thought was too much and too dangerous. "Do you think your grandfather is willing to negotiate so easily? What if he thinks you're protecting Bill and planning something dangerous? What would your grandfather do to you?"
