The Harsh reality

In the end, Miranda couldn't hide what hurt her the most because of Alan's betrayal. After dinner, she told Anne that she had sold all her jewelry in order to give money to Alan.

Ever since Miranda kicked Bill out, Anne had been living with her. So, every day Miranda would see her mother and Anne would notice that Miranda never wore any jewelry anymore. That's why it was better for Miranda to tell her now.

"What did you say? You sold all your jewelry and gave all the money to Alan?" Anne looked shocked at Miranda's confession.

"Yes." Miranda said with some hesitation.

"Oh my, Miranda! How could you be so stupid like that?" asked Anne in a squealing voice. Her gentle attitude towards her daughter vanished when it came to money and valuables.

Miranda could only close her eyes for a moment and frown. Her mother's voice was truly deafening, even though Miranda had heard it many times before.
