Four days later, Romeo found himself sitting in the back of a cab, the city streets passing by in a blur as he made his way to Anna Hickey's house.

Anxiety gnawed at his insides, his mind consumed with thoughts of what awaited him at his destination.

He pulled out his phone, fingers trembling slightly as he scrolled through his contacts, searching for Anna's name.

He dialed her number repeatedly, each ring going unanswered, his frustration mounting with each failed attempt.

"Come on, Anna, pick up," he muttered under his breath, desperation creeping into his voice as he tried again and again to reach her.

But still, there was no response, no indication that Anna was even aware of his calls.

Romeo's brow furrowed in frustration, his mind racing with worry and confusion.

For two weeks now, Anna had been absent from his life and her absence weighed heavily on his mind.
