"Or else what?" Romeo sounded daring and non chalant.

Jane fell silent for a moment, her gaze narrowing at Romeo before she spoke again. "Must you always create a scene everywhere you go?" she began, as her tone dripped with frustration. "You're always in the habit of causing trouble wherever you go."

"Maybe if you were nice and speak to me with a little kindness, I wouldn't be much of a troublemaker whenever I'm with you people," Romeo defended himself, as his voice was tinged with exasperation.

Mrs. Davidson's face flushed with anger, and she interjected sharply, "You know, we all are not supposed to stand before this trash in front of us. We have better things to do with our time. Let's go, girls."

With that, the three women turned to leave, but as Linda attempted to wave goodbye to Romeo, Mrs. Davidson seized her hand and pulled her away, steering her in their direction.
