CHAPTER 283

Romeo woke up to a pounding headache, his vision blurred as he blinked to clear the fog.

The damp, musty smell of the Davidson basement hit his nostrils, it was a place he recognized all too well.

His arms and legs were bound tightly, rendering him immobile. As his eyes adjusted, he saw five hefty men surrounding him, their faces were expressionless and intimidating.

"What the hell is this?" he asked, with a voice that was rough with confusion and anger.

Without warning, one of the men surged forward and delivered a brutal kick to Romeo's stomach.

Romeo grunted in pain, as the wind knocked out of him, and he doubled over as much as his restraints allowed.

"Well, well, well, look who we have here," came a familiar voice, accompanied by slow, deliberate clapping. Andrew Baines stepped into view, with a smirk plastered across his face.

"Bastard! I should have known better," Romeo spat, as his eyes blazed with fury.
