With Mr Davidson's fixed gaze at her direction, Mrs Davidson had to come up with something.

"Honey, I told you it was a wrong act of generosity to award Romeo with such amount of money. I warn you against it, but you turned a deaf ear. However if you must know, he squandered that money, wasting it booze, casino's and all other forms of betting."

Mr Davidson furrowed his eyebrows. "Are you serious?"

"Why would I lie to you my husband? I always told you that this man only portrayed himself as a good man so he could marry our daughter. I knew he was extremely wretched and poor, not just physically, but also mentally."

"That is serious. How did you know how he spent the money?"

"Come on honey, I hired spies to watch him ever since he professed love for our daughter. Information about him was always available to me anytime, until he and Linda got separated."

"I can see that." Mr Davidson snorted with displeasure written all over his face.
