Chapter 108

Inside, the Syndicate members were distracted, their attention drawn to the commotion outside. Dexter and his friends moved quickly, positioning themselves behind a stack of crates to stay hidden. Dexter's heart raced as he took in the scene. The Syndicate members were in disarray, some rushing toward the noise while others remained at the table, confused and agitated.

“Now’s our chance,” Dexter whispered. “Let’s take out those who are still here.”

Clara nodded, her grip tightening on her crossbow. “We’ll have to move fast. We can’t let them regroup.”

Dexter glanced at Henry, who was already positioning himself behind a nearby crate, readying his weapon. “On three,” he said. “One… two… three!”

They sprang into action. Dexter lunged forward, taking the lead as he dashed toward the table. Clara followed close behind, her crossbow drawn, while Henry flanked them, ready to provide cover fire if necessary.

The first Syndicate member spotted them just as they closed in, but it was too late.
