“Watch out!” she shouted, warning Dexter just in time. He turned to see a third man charging at him with a knife. Dexter sidestepped the attack and retaliated with a kick that connected squarely with the man’s stomach, knocking the wind out of him. He fell to the ground, clutching his abdomen and gasping for breath.

“Nice one!” Lila called out, managing to fend off another attacker with a swift roundhouse kick that sent him sprawling. Dexter couldn’t help but admire her agility and skill; she fought with the kind of confidence that reminded him of Mia.

But there was no time to waste. The last two guards were regrouping, their expressions now grim and determined. They exchanged a look that spoke volumes, clearly preparing to launch a coordinated attack.

“Dexter, behind you!” Lila warned, but he had already sensed the movement and spun around just in time. One of the men came at him with a punch, and Dexter blocked it, countering with an elbow to the man’s face.
