The air in the dark alley felt heavy, like a storm waiting to break. Dexter stood still, every sense heightened. A low growl echoed through the darkness as the Revenant stepped forward, its glowing red eyes locking onto Dexter’s.

“You’ve been quite the thorn in my side, boy,” the Revenant sneered, voice deep and rasping. Its skeletal frame shimmered with an otherworldly aura, a cloak of shadows swirling around it. The monster’s hands, sharp as claws, flexed in anticipation.

“I’m not here to talk,” Dexter said, activating his system. Energy surged through him, blue sparks crackling around his fists. “I’m here to finish you.”

The Revenant grinned, revealing jagged teeth. “Brave words. Let’s see if you can back them up.”

Without warning, the Revenant lunged, a blur of shadow and speed. Dexter barely had time to react, sidestepping just as the creature’s claws slashed through the air where he had stood moments ago. The impact sent sparks flying from the nearby wall.
