Dexter rolled to the side, narrowly dodging the Hunter’s punch as it cracked the concrete wall behind him. His body was still reeling from the impact of the previous hit, but he couldn't afford to slow down. The Hunter was relentless—each movement precise, lethal.

"System," he muttered through clenched teeth, "how long till Shadow Merge?"

"Shadow Merge available in 10 seconds."

Not soon enough.

The Hunter closed the distance in an instant, delivering a powerful kick to Dexter’s side. He barely had time to block, and even with his enhanced strength, the force of the hit sent him skidding backward. He grit his teeth, forcing himself back onto his feet.

"Running out of tricks, aren’t you?" the Hunter taunted, his voice cold and mocking. "You’re just another worm playing in a world that doesn’t belong to you."

Dexter didn’t respond. His mind was entirely focused on survival, on outlasting the relentless assault. He could feel the countdown ticking in his head.
