The cave erupted into chaos as the first Revenant fell to Tessa’s arrow, but that brief moment of triumph was quickly overshadowed by the rush of dark figures pouring out of the forest. Dexter’s heart raced as he saw the wave of shadowy shapes advancing, their movements fluid and predatory.

“Hold your ground!” Dexter shouted, rallying the survivors. They had positioned themselves strategically, with makeshift weapons ready to defend their newfound home. “Use the traps! We’ll lure them in!”

Adrian positioned himself next to Dexter, gripping a heavy branch like a club. “I’ll take the left flank,” he said, nodding toward where a few Revenants were emerging. “I’ll draw them toward the fire pit.”

“Good. Tessa, stay with the others and provide cover!” Dexter commanded, his voice steady. He felt the weight of their survival resting on his shoulders but also a surge of hope. They had a plan, and they were ready to execute it.
